Finally got the SBC installed in the 40 yesterday. Next weekend I will install the radiator, hookup the fuel and ignition and test drive her around the yard. Should have her all done in 3-4 weeks.

Enjoy.......

Forgot to add that I painted the wheels stock gray, aka Massey Ferguson gray, and replaced the poly tank with an original steel tank.

Hope that tank works out well for u, I see a little bit of blue in there :) Sorry again about the mix up with the case

Thanks, the dent is no biggie, I just hope it doesn't leak. :) I have yet to put the final black spray bomb on little pieces on the interior. There is a little blue, cygnus white, and freeborn red in various places.

How come you changed out the motor and wheels?

Did you read my thread? In th elink to the engine build I think I covered it. But mainly because the V8 is better in virtually aspects except being Toyota. Plus my brother needed a 2F in his 60.

The wheels were just painted, however I have since sold those as the 38's were a little much for road duty and I now have a new set of 35 KM2's and beadlocks.

Is that aj**p seat in the back. How did you mount it.:meh:

Finally got the rig moves up to the new house in Columbia and got the V8 running. Sounds nice! All the body pieces are put back on and I have to finish bolting up the transfer case and driveshafts, mount the skid plate, wire up the alternator, wire loom the harness in the engine bay, connect the throttle cable, and mount the roll bar.

I got a set of Cumminscruiser seat brackets that I will weld up this saturday and mount my new Summit seats and VDP center console.

You can see the Optima mounted on the firewall in the second pic. I used a BTF bracket with a yellowtop Optima.

The tires are 35/12.50/15 BFG KM2's with standard steel wheels and Bobby Longs weld-on beadlocks. The tires have been mounted and aired up fro 6 months now and still hold air fine. I didn't have to use any silicone or anything. They are not balanced, so we'll see how they ride. Gotta be better than my unbalanced, biased 38" TSL's that I had on before.

Officially her cherry has been popped!

Ran Gulches ORV the other day for a shakedown run and she did AWESOME! The owner of the park said she was the nicest FJ he had ever seen come thru there. Ran some really tough rock trails, double blacks, and then it got dark. The KM2's hooked up great at 8 psi, the V8 was never underpowered, and came out without a scratch or breakage. I dumped my clutch fluid on a side hill climb in a ravine that I thought for sure was going to roll, but all it did was knock out my clutch. A quick pull backwards, some fluid, and she was off again.

I added a traction bar mounted to an IPOR skid plate the night before the run, and it worked great. No pics of the wheeling, but pics of the finished rig dirty and the newly added traction bar soon.

Here is how she sits finally out of the garage. Got me a nice STC Hartz top with 2 piece doors and tinted windows.:grinpimp:

Here is the front stretched with a long spline HA driveshaft. Along with the new IPOR skid plate with Ruff Stuff traction bar.
