I need some CURRENT info regarding a 70 SERIES WINDSHIELD. Ive looked on various posts but everything seems to be outdated. I am in the (LONG) process of importing a HJ75 Land Cruiser and i would like to know if anyone has any ideas of where i can/ could obtain a replacement windshield for it. I would rather have one and not need it than need it and not have one. I will contact Toyota USA to see if they have an OEM but i need as many suggestions as possible . Cheers:confused:

Depending on the year, the windshield is available in the US market.

Part number: 56111-60220

List: $707.73

Mud pricing: $530.79 +shipping (probably expensive depending on where you live).

No one in their right mind would buy a HJ75 in the first place. :D

Normally just rednecks from the south buy them I hear. Mainly for there tyre shredding power.

Got mine for a 1990 HZJ77 from Toyota in Canada. Think it was $500+. I'm sure I could've found cheaper but at that time I needed it ASAP and they could have it to me the next day.

What I had trouble finding was the right windshield gasket. Mine was a Toyota oem part that I ordered but turned out to be too small and my original one had to be reused. There're a few different ones not only in size but chrome inserts too.

I would suspect your windshield to be the same as every other heavy duty narrow front 70 series that features a hinging windshield such as BJ73, BJ74, HZJ73, HZJ75, HZJ79 etc. Someone like Beno I would trust to confirm models with matching windshields. If you have time a take out would be cheapest. If possible try and transport it yourself from nearby. Glass can arrive smashed due to clumsy shippers.

I bought a new windshield for my BJ73 (which has the hinged frame) a couple weeks ago. Beno's part number is good.

Very few dealerships are willing to ship, find a dealer near you who will discount it into the 500's.

What are the diffences between basic WINDSHIELD, ZONE TEMPERED GLASS, and LAMINATED GLASS ?

Also what is the gasket part no. so we have this all together on one thread.

The local dealer can order pn 56111-60220, but it's a non-returnable item so I want to make sure it's the right part for the fold-down 7*Series windshield, and which of the above part nos. does it match?

laminate is normal NA style glass
zoned tempered is that stuff that Charla experienced (i believe) which goes like frosted glass when it busts.

56121 WEATHERSTRIP, WINDSHIELD
56121-90K01 EAST MALAYSIA SPEC 1 $132.57
56121-90K03 CHROME PACKAGE 1 $121.15

FIXED windshield frame:
56111 GLASS, WINDSHIELD
56111-60220 LAMINATED GLASS, T=5.3, GREEN, WINDSHIELD GLASS = INSTALLED BY WEATHERSTRIP 1 $262.95
56111-60820 LAMINATED GLASS, T=5.3, GREEN, W(TOP SHADE) 1 $280.82

as i said earlier, contact Mark at ENS and he will confirm which is which.

the part number you listed is for a fixed frame....you could order tempered glass ( like side window) before but not now. all previous part number lead to this one 56111-60220 and i don't think this one is for you.

The should also be another part number for the "Airbag dash" glass and there glue in rubber seal

It's discouraging to see so much conflicting information on the correct windshield for a model 73 or 74, especially when it's a non-returnable part from Toyota.

damn, john, are you that stubborn or too cheap (or maybe you just can't take advice) to call ENS and get the info you need?

(this is reminiscent of the LJ days)
