So before David (@70hitchhiker42) bought the BJ70, we were hunting for a while, about 6 months or so. During the hunt both @joekatana and @Onur had recommended that we take a look at @FJ73Texas PZJ70 in San Antonio. Matt and I talked, but the BJ fit the bill, and we went that way. Fast forward to the untimely demise of the BJ, and we took a trip out to visit and see the PZJ70. OMG what a beautiful rig. Seriously one of the nicest I have seen. Meticulously cared for, well appointed, and just lovely. @FJ73Texas was kind enough to entrust us with the truck (I really think of it that way more than just a transaction) and we brought it home last night. It's insured, passed inspection and will be titled and registered tomorrow.

I am so happy for @70hitchhiker42 and also thrilled to make another friend in @FJ73Texas!

Thank you for taking the time to come out and look at the cruiser. Having it go to a good home was a good feeling for me but at the same time was sad to part with it. It was very nice meeting both of you.

So many people that have seen it have told me they were surprised it has not sold yet but I wasn't complaining either as I was enjoying it too much.

I will be interested to see what mods (if any) you make to it.

I don’t see the need for too many mods. Installing the cup holder is at the top of the list. A locking toolbox for the back is important. Other than that the truck is amazing as it drives now. Only thing that maybe tempting is som decals I’ve seen that look so good on the 60’s maybe along the sides. I’d like some feedback from others before I do anything drastic of that nature!

Decals all the way. There are some spectacular GCC color schemes that look really good on 045

Meet Dirty Rob, aka @rboutwe75 ’s new 70 series...

LHD 199X with a carb’d 3F & H55. It is equipped like a US FJ60 - spartan with a few creature comforts. Super pimp.

South American. Colombia I think. It is not one of the nightmare restoration trucks. It appears unmolested and all stock.

Was thinking it had heat, or at least the controls. It for sure has AC. It also has an anti-carjacking system that locks the doors when you start it.
 
It's got heat and air.
Imported from Colombia.......some funky wiring.
Not sure about the rear-axle, but it looks like the same as the one that was in my 40. How can you tell by looking at it?

CKD Truck.

You can tell by looking at it from the rear. Axle housing where the differential mounts will be angular vs. circular (Japanese built LC).

You most likely have a Dana rear. On CKD trucks, a certain percentage of parts needed to be locally manufactured. As such, most Colombian built LCs will have Dana rear axles.... along with other weird parts sourced locally during that time.
