i want to make a run of bikini tops for the 70, 73, 74 series.
but
i don't want to be sitting on a half dozen for 3 years either.

so

let me know the color, quanity of the top you are after. i will get a quote of how much they will be.
shipping will be the responsibility of the purchaser.

(should be around $200 each +/- )

it uses the YJ spreader bar which the owner will need to source.

beige, black, gray

yah, must be ... we like the wind in our hair (what is left of it) and the young kids want AC and tunes.

I could really care less about ac when I can open up windows. Thats Canadian air conditioning.
Tunes on the other hand. You like tunes don't kid yourself!

It is difficult for Wayne to play his "45" records in a moving vehicle and 8Track tapes are getting scarce.:)

Hi Wayne, I now own a BJ 74 That you brought in, picked her up in Calgary last fall, I would be interested in one Black Bikini Top. Thanks

which 74 did you purchase?
i have a black one being made up today, if they do a fine job then i will have a couple made up .

contact me direct at

i picked up the second generation bikini top that fits the 70 rag, 73,74 series trucks.
i will post up pics showing the old style and the new style.
reciever bars are available extra.
i tested the top today at 90 k/h (actually 110 but to play safe) and it is tight, quiet and looks very nice. your tires will be louder than the top at 90k.
the finalized price is $350 (i am making $50 profit) plus shipping. will ship Canada post once the strike is over.
reciever bars for the hard tops are not included. the ragtops use the original reciever.
the tops are available in a variety of colors. payment will be recieved before order is submitted. the order will be shipped within 2 weeks of recieving payment.

a while back i posted up a chance to have fiberglass doors make up that reuse the factory parts but i need an order of 10 before proceeding. the cost is $1000 aprox a set. factory steel is $500 each plus shipping but not as strong as the fiberglass will be.
you can also use a piece of aluminum, plywood, steel to close in the back or find someone with a rolled 70 to purchase the doors from.
i have a cut off set sitting here in decent shape if needed, $500 for the pair plus shipping.
pics and write up to follow.

let me know who still wants a top.

the first generation top on the 74 compared to the second gen on the 70.
the newer version is quieter using a different material.
<side note: notice the tires. if anyone has a set of 35 X 12.5 good year wrangler ATS in excellent shape. i am interested in purchasing them>

Quick question on the top.

Wayne, looking at the nice pics you posted and want to ask how much of a difference is there in the Scrambler bikini top and the ones you are making up? Not sure if that's what you mean by 1st gen and 2nd? I am moving to Arizona soon, out of cold, mag. chloride Colorado and should be FRP free for good soon, and I am looking for a bikini top; for my truck that is...(BJ74)! Also, do you make those cool chrome side cargo rails to sell too? Thank you, Mike

you mean my "dog keeper inner" rails? better known as cargo rails, yes.
they are aluminum, not chrome. sched 80 aluminum with 1/4" mounts. those ones got powder coated black today and looks pretty darn nice.

the difference between the scrambler top and this one? no idea. i do know this one fits snuggly along the sheet metal and designed for the 70/73/74 series. the other probably might keep the rain out and will be cheaper since they make them by the dozens or maybe even hundreds instead of a couple at a time.
