Both rear corners are taking shape inside and out. Had to mock up the OG cateyes and round reflector......There's hope yet.....

A few more update pics......anyone know where the filler neck cover came from. Had to improvise for now until I find the right one. Gotta shape it some more. If anyone has an extra filler cover let me know. Thanks. Pieced in some metal above the rear side window. Of course someone cut out the roof supports fro some reason so had to fab a set of those up along with the dome bracket. I'm liking the gaps so far on the driver door.

Looking good Pete, stay after it…keep the pics coming😁

Thanks everyone. Appreciate the good vibes. Spending all day tomorrow at the shop working on the LV, laying down some more filler, knocking dents and cleaning up the front housing for the disc conversion. It's only been 3 weeks but this retirement stuff is starting to set in.....

Time! Congratulations on your retirement Pete! I am almost there. Then I will have more time…hopefully!🤪

Thanks bud. Yessir, your days are numbered too. I say retired but really just a break for now. I'll end up doing something again I'm sure after 32 years of public service. But who knows. No excuse now too not finish my 2 45's..........Heck the money I've spent on this LV, my shortbed would be on the road. This darn LV.....ugh

Now it’s time….can Pete come out and play.😂. You earned it.

Well, it's been awhile for an update and some of you have seen some progress pics, but I thought I'd post them up. Still working on getting to the finish line. Plenty to do, but, got the body/metal work all done and in first coat of primer. Doing some fine touches on that. Got the body and motor secured in the frame. Firewall and floor is painted. Floor got 3 coats of liner, then a final coat of white paint. Just picked up an OME lift for it, going on next week, and the 33x10.50s are waiting on deck. Doors are all in good shape with minor defects, no rust. Mounting them up next. Tailgate is on and I'm happy with the gaps. Gas tank had issues so i sent it off to get sealed up and dipped. Disc brake is done and ready for install with the lift. Worked on the y-pipe yesterday, turning out clean. Single out on driver side. I keep checking things off the list. Met with my painter and maybe soon a coat of capri blue and lily white is in order. We'll see.

Gas tank had a few issues. I cleaned it out, vinegar, vapa-rust, pieces of chain. Got it clean out but had a few small leaks at the seams. So, sent it off for a spa day to get re-sealed and repaired. Yes, cant believe there's shops around that are willing to do tanks. I did have to travel out of the County......

Congrats!!! That’s a lot of progress. Makes my 40 restomod/frame off looks simple. I’d be scared to take on an LV. Good job.

Where did you find someone to repair gas tanks?
My guy in Reno doesn't do gas tanks anymore.
