Probably a stupid question to ask but here it goes I was gonna run hydro assist but a friend told me I could run full hydro and still have enough control to go on the highway is this true

Cause somethings telling me that if I got quality components it would work well on the highway.even though her highway use would be just a couple hours on the weekends to get to the trail I'd still liked that option I'm just afraid of to much steering lag between left and right yet I know Some bigrigs use full hydro steering any suggestions

I can't believe I've missed this build! I'm putting this exact drivetrain in my 60 in the coming months. It looks great man!

Be careful of the DOT inspection laws in your area. I have read that some do not allow custom full hydraulic steering.

Other than that, conceptually it should be fine on the road if you match the ram up to the orbital valve you get correctly, so that turning is not sensitive at high speed.

It is legal to run full hydro in almost every state. http://www.liftlaws.com/is_full_hydro_steering_street_legal.htm

The lag comes from the pump being too small to keep up, so make sure you get a pump with a high GPM rating. PSC makes great kits. Your build is looking good. What is your frame height going to be?

I've herd good and bad legal issues don't bother me too much. I've heard of what is called supposedly a load reacting orbital so it feels more like mechanical steering do u know what that's all about/ the difference between traditional. My belly height goal is is 24. But right now without Eng tran and t case and no bed I'm sitting at 30. 150 over 250 coilovers. Now back to the pump I'm running a 4bt diesel does the diesel pumps have any different qualitys. I just don't want much slop in the steering and if it acts like a 3 turn PS box (which is pretty fast. I would like to comfortably drive her down the highway 70 MPH
