I looked at NAPA online just now, and they have changed the description.

Wierd.... So maybe this is no longer what it was? Because it worked great for me...!

I purchased one of these a while back (6 months +?) and it did not work for me. It seems that this is no longer useful unfortunately. :(

While completing a SOA on my FJ40, I hit the wall with the 9-mm issue as well - Aside from being dirty my lines seemed to be in good condition so I devised a way to use ALL the existing "T's" and connectors with the exception of the ones connected to the new - Soft Lines which were 3/8 - 24.
  • Cut the short steel line threaded into the soft lines and remove the 9mm fittings
  • Using a longer new steel line I cut the appropriate length - slid the 9mm and 3/8 fittings on and using a flaring tool from Kragen Auto Parts re-flared the cut end.
  • Reinstalled lines using the old 9mm fittings and new 3/8.
  • This worked with both front and the single rear.
  • The original steel brake lines that piggy-back the rear axle housing worked surprisingly well after the SOA in the rear.

I'm a Dirtbike Veteran venturing into the 4x4 world. Hope this is helpful. ORME Brothers in Van Nuys, CA made my custom lines in a snap - great quality.

First attempt at importing pics - I apologize in advance if I'm a failure.

Here are the new Soft lines connected to the original steel lines using the 3/8 fittings I slipped on.

Sorry the pics are so large - I thought they'd be tiny coming from an iPhone.
Hope these help my post from earlier.

BTW, one of the Kragen Auto Parts workers mentioned to me - you can find 9mm fittings at OSH - Orchard Supply and Hardware. I never checked it out myself because I was able to fix it a different way.
