Trust me, @Napster , if you've ever had tendinitis, you would beg for some way to relieve the pain.

The pain is brought on by repetitively holding something firmly - tennis racket, grinder, sander, etc. and as long as you continue to grip the item, it hurts like hell.

Google tendinitis or tendonitis - it's spelled both ways.

Sorry to make light of the injury but... A repetitive motion injury while gripping "something" firmly is grounds for snickering. I am a high school teacher and as a result have the sense of humor of a pubescent boy. That said, I am truly sorry for any injury that keeps you all from working on or enjoying your rigs. May you all heal quickly.

No apology needed - just be sure you post here when you develop tendinitis from whatever it is you are repetitively gripping ;)

Edit: Sorry - premature send...

And may you eventually teach a more mature student ;)

@Pin_Head , @pngunme I looked this morning and Andrea has a Red and a Yellow Thera-Band. Looks like the Red (light 10#) is less resistance than the Green (medium 15#) one and Yellow (extra light 6#) is the least of all.

I did 10 reps on each elbow this morning with the Red one. Not sure how many I should do to start off, but felt that was a good jumping off point.

Elbows don't seem as tight as they did earlier this morning. I will keep this going and let you guys know.

I started doing 15 reps 3 times a day with the green bar. For the first few days it hurt, but I limited it by not twisting the bar fully and therefore not flexing my wrist so much. You can also increase the mount of force on any bar by moving your hands closer together, so the red bar should work too as you need more force. After 3-4 days it started feeling more like when you get a massage on a pulled muscle: It hurt so good. I twisted the bar more and harder to stretch more. I carried the bar aroung with me and started doing more reps.

It is supposed to work by stretching the extensor muscles that the tendons are attached to, which lessens the tension on the tendon at rest. For me the results were amazing. The chronic pain went away and never came back. When I start feeling elbow pain again, I work out some more with the bar.

I've stuck to "better living through chemistry" for quite awhile . It seems muscle relaxers help a lot to stop the cramping and pressure , even with my hands . Otherwise , very high heat works well also - just running them under hot water for awhile makes a world of difference . Somehow , over the course of different types of work I wore out one elbow badly and the bone is starting to degrade - that dumb thing will wake a guy up in the middle of the night . I use one of those long lasting heat packs and it helps a lot . Wish I could afford to get it fixed , that stupid "clunk" and looseness it has drives me nuts .

Btw - if gripping that grinder is a bother , have you tried one of the new Bosch slim line models ? I've got one of the smaller 7.5a ones and it's motor diameter is way smaller than my higher torque Metabo . I've found it helps a lot when I'm using it for long periods , just seems to stop that painful cramping that gets started with the bigger grip area . It also helps just to learn to take breaks at regular intervals - it's the amount of extended time that creates the problem .

Miracle cure for tennis elbow!
By Kevin Craig on February 27, 2015

After months of trying the traditional treatment of ice, rest, and NSAIDs for lateral epicondylitis ("tennis elbow"), and finding no relief, I searched for physical therapy exercises and came across the "Tyler Twist" that uses the Thera-Band Flexbar.

All I can say is that it's a miracle cure. By the time I built up to doing 15 repetitions (which took about a week), the symptoms were almost gone.

One caveat: I'm a reasonably strong guy, so I ordered the Medium (green). In hindsight, I should have started with the Red (light). For anyone who is elderly or who has weak muscles, the Extra Light (yellow) would be even better.

Well I can tell a difference. Thank you!

Now onto work.. Built a few gutter mounts for a customer and welded up a few bad spots in the panels. Its Friday and didn't want to push it... SO! Got the aprons, hard sides and DS rocker and part of the quarter in filler. Let it set up and air filed it down. I'll rest up over the weekend and Monday I'll start to block sand everything.

Thank you for the "Tyler Twist" exercise info. It's been many, many years since my tendonitis situation. But, I am dealing with a similar situation in the upper arm. Several years ago the first Dr I went to just wanted to give me shots in the joint area and not tell me what I was actually dealing with. After finally finding a sports Dr who would actually tell me what I was dealing with, I was diagnosed as having calcium deposits. Well, this flared up again late last summer, subsided over the winter, and is coming back again now that I'm back outside with the better weather. I'm going to have to spend some time online to see if there is some similar type of exercising to be done.

Don,

Well I can say this.. It is my second day and on my 5th rep cycle with the Red Thera-Band and I feel 100% better. The Bands are sold on Amazon with free shipping.

Here is a link to the Green Band. (I'm using the Red, but probably should be using the Green like @Pin_Head recommended, more resistance... BUT its working for now...)

Are we going to get to see some TIG from you? :)

I have a left over tintable Monstaliner kit from my 60 build. I have decided that the inner tub will get the "Brown Eyed Girl" tint from @magnetman. I was going to go with plain black but this is a really nice match that ISN'T just BLACK for a change.

Jason: I'm sure you are awaiting my approval :rimshot: you have it!!

Well .. OF COURSE!!! Most don't like the liner but, I do. Most DIY liner kits are problematic for the simple fact they provide sub-par components... and well... SUCK BALLS, just to be blunt and to the point.... This will be my 5th ML project and I guarantee there will be a 6th, 7th, 8th... etc........

Had some time this morning before having to pack and head to Denver. Spot welded up all the PO's holes that they drilled everywhere. 35 to be exact. HA! ranging from 1/8"-~1/2". Patched in the two hacked up holes in the floor as well. Ready for the Chassis Saver when I get back.

Have a great week everybody.

Just a couple on one of the wheel wells.......
