Bought ANOTHER one. My wife is in discuss. HA! This cruiser had a good life. Mostly hwy k's. Time for some welder love.

It was leaking through the roof racks. Pretty common at that age. Sealed that up and did some body work.

One spot on the outside c channel. That was the easy patch to fix. I almost got the whole driver side frame rail completely done but I ran out of blue sheilds gas. My local napa store was all out. suakafxxx. Im going to have to take a break until next week.

Fixed the pillars and around the roof. The last picture is the side of the frame where I havn't done anything to yet. This is sadly the nicest frame I've ever ran into in B.C. I would say theres atleast 70% of it all there. lol. Dam salty roads.

The engine runs like a champ. Cold starts like a wet dream. I will do a compression test but I would imagine that this engine is going to show awesome results. It needs a new water pump. Small details.

is it a 3B or 2H

just like mine! and it was that colour stock too. The most boring brown out there..! I find it funny Toyota started selling this colour again too. BC cruisers are so much better than the rest of the country up here. Looks good for an oldie.

Boring? I love the poo brown. That s*** looks good;)

I will do a compression test soon. Any Guessers out there?

Im guessing 410,395 410,420

I drove this truck home. about 100kms of coastal hwys. Other than the broken rear cross member smashing the bottom of the body on every ripple in the road, it was a dream. tonnes of power. Snail power that is. lol

1st gear is a little tough to get into? Like tough for a novice driver. Im thinking the syncros.. I will search ihmud for a good h55f rebuild thread. Any recommendations?

One side nearly complete. This was the worst of the two sides. Glad to have that conquered.

I burnt the s*** out of myself today. Torching in board shorts and a t-shirt. You gotta love welding splashes burning your ass while concentrating on doing a nice bead. Hope I can have most of it done by tomorrow but i doubt it.

More burns and head aches. But inch by inch im getting it done. Not looking forward to cut out the other side of the shock cross member out. But i will. Don't ask me why I do this s*** because i am still figuring it out.

dude your powering through that frame rust. really doing nice work its sure gonna be nice and solid after all that. dang now I gotta get something done on my bj60 project its moving slower then a dead snail haha as always too many projects on the go.......

So far everything i've done was for free minus the weld through primer. 20$$$ I was able to do all the rust repairs with the left over 2"x5" steel from my custom frame and random scraps or steel lying around.

Ok. so I had to go spend 10 bucks on some bolts. I was going to get all fancy with the tub bender but I decided to weld my bolts to the top of the cross member and inboard them an inch from stock setting. This is how it turned out

The last two shots are closer up to the tranny cross member. I have one chunk of c channel left to do both spots. What a grind. I will chop and weld tomorrow.

Well here comes another can of worms. I decided to fix the body mounts since they are pretty important to keeping the body on. lol I started with the rear. Since i was in there and it would probably make my life a little easier if i just cut the whole rear quarter off. CUtting some fat, oh yeah!

It started raining some I came inside. Some of us dont own a triple bay garage. No complaints here though.

whoa! looks like there was some nice stuff in there haha. better lose that bumper its gonna get in yer way! hey i might need to copy your template for that lower quarter chop lol mine was so smashed im not sure how wide it was supposed to be

Dude, you're doing the quarter chop... That's the first thing I have to do on mine. Damn, I'm a little jealous seeing as others just plow right through the jobs at hand, again, great work
