Wasn’t going to go with a skid plate as they’re another flat location for crude to accumulate. But what I drive through - chicory, dry wheat grasses, sagebrush, creek bottoms - reeks havoc on cables and fuel lines under the cab so I decided to hang a plate from @hyhpe to see how that protects things. Fits well. Don’t have one on my 40 due to SBC and clearance issues. Can’t believe all the wedged in crap that gets accumulated underneath without a plate.

Here’s mine (looking forward vs aft). No protrusion, but I don’t have a PTO, so maybe that’s the difference.
Sorry got plans with the family.Fire it up and drive it to Fins, I'm heading down for an after float beverage.
I have been tempted to make a book like your talking about to leave in the glove box for the next person. Photos of the build and my uncle using it along with a story about him.You could use one of those allen wrench-type plugs that are much shorter in height and not subject to trail damage like the hex head ones. I need to look at my pics, I don’t recall having this issue.
GLWS. I can’t imagine how I’d be able to do that after all this effort. I think I sent a note to woody (admin) a while back asking if there is any possibility to create and download a printable version of these great build threads to print and turn into a coffee table book. I’d like to do that with my build thread for posterity that’s non-digital (like our rigs) but I don’t know if I did ask or got an answer. Your build book would be a great thing to hand off to the next owner/keeper.
And those VIN tags! For (Land Cruisers) being one of the principal vehicles to put Toyota on the global automobile map I’m amazed how at best we just have theories on why the early VIN tags reflect the disparate info they do, which is quite often head scratching. But it keeps us in speculation land and out of trouble I suppose.
It is the transfer not PTO.I think it is the transfer drain, not PTO
@middlecalf your skidplate has a different design versus @HUNTER3DAN
still seems to have the same drop from the framerails tho
