Wheels and tires

Once again, after A LOT of deliberation, I decided to go with Rock Warriors and 285/75-17's (34x11.50's). The rock warrior's factory gunmetal is ok, but the polished rings are just too much for my taste. I decided to powdercoat everything satin black. I went with BK08 ≈20% gloss. In order to make Ouray, I had to bead blast the RW's myself due to the fact that my powdercoater was completed booked up. While I've even seen wood get powdercoated, my guy was worried that the screws wouldn't get done evenly without grounding each one of them, so that's just what I did:eek: I swapped the TPMS sensors out of my stock wheels into the RW's.

I decided to go with Toyo Open Country Xtreme AT's since they seem like a pretty aggressive AT, I've really been pleased with my Toyo MT's on the 80 and I've heard a lot of positive reviews of the AT's.

After running these to Ouray and back, I have to say that I'm completely happy with my choices.

200's in Ouray Labor Day Weekend 2015

I've wanted to see Ouray since I very first heard of it and saw the amazing pictures. Well, thanks to codyaustin5 and many others, it looked like my dream may be finally become a reality!!! It was a marathon trip for Tammy, the dogs and me, but it was soooooo worth the lack of sleep for us. We left Thursday evening, spent the night in Zion, hit up Bryce and landed in Ouray around 6:00PM Friday. We got totally hooked up by Slee with dinner, beer and swag bags, Yay Slee, thank you guys so much!! We wheeled Black Bear, Imogene and Poughkeepsie and then headed home Labor Day morning about 4:30. We cruised through Sedona and we finally got home at about 8:00PM, whew!!!

Our babies packed up and ready to go:

More pics to come!!!

I feel slightly envious... Your 200 is so freaking nice. And I'm sure you're not even done yet. Definitely would be watching this build thread.

awesome thread and awesome truck!!!

How did you like the Toyos on the trail? What pressure are you running day to day? Great looking truck.

Thanks guys!
I'm really happy with the Toyo's so far. A 200 with 34" AT's is certainly no 80 with 35" MT's, but still totally ecstatic with the whole package! 42 PSI F&R

Looks great...any rubbing with the new shoes?

I have the toyos as well. Did great. 285 size running 44 psi day to day and aired down to 32 on trails.

since you mentioned it....a 200 on 34's next to my buddy's 80 on 35's.

Thanks! Slight rubbing on what's left of the front mudflaps after I removed about 2/3 of it when I back up at full lock and pretty much unperceivable rubbing on the sway/KDSS at full lock. I'm sure I'll whittle away at the mudflaps a little more, but I'm not concerned with the sway/KDSS.

I aired down to 32 on trails.

I aired down to between 17 and 21 with a target of 18. Guess I need to finally readjust those Stauns:rolleyes:

Nice, guess we know your favorite color:D

edited to reflect the 80 belongs to my buddy. he lives a couple streets over. we definately joked about having two red cruisers in the neighborhood. especially in a small town that probably only has 6 or 7 landcruisers total!

I really dig the grey, but the salsa came up and was too good a deal to pass up.
I like the way the black rock warriors came out. looks great with the grey color.

only time and hard hits will tell

@619TOY do you have a full size spare? if so, is it mounted in the stock location?
thanks.

Yes, I do. I was worried the 285/75-17 wouldn't fit but strangely enough it did. I removed the factory rear tire bracket on the frame. The problem I had was the something was causing the larger tire to wobble front to back or side to side, which I didn't like. I resolved it by mounting some rubber spacers that I just so happened to have laying around. I know they'll probably leave marks on the spare, but I'll live with that...

Great to know a full size spare will fit...now, to find a 5th rock warrior...

Hello, did you add any spacers to your ICON lift or did you just adjust the ride height on the front coils with a spanner?
Also, do you have any pictures of the ARB slide and lineX that you did in the rear that you can share?

Thanks,

Bart

The Icon coilovers are spanner wrench adjustable and although I got a spanner wrench with the lift, I haven't used it. The coilovers gave almost exactly 3" of lift out of the box.

I haven't made any more progress on the rear than making a giant template of the floor and designing the preliminary stages of the slide, so no pics yet...

Thank you. We're going to have similar builds when mine is complete. First up is ICON lift, tires, diff drop kit and sliders.

Did you install a diff drop kit?
