Please refer to the SOR catalogue, item #12:

Specter Off-Road Land Cruiser Parts - Page 138 Rear Door 55 Series

Does anybody know a source for replacement barbed clips that are kind of "T" shaped that install into this weatherstrip?

I got one of these used from a MUD member, it installs on the two vertical edges of the BODY opening, and the bottom horizontal run has little integral plastic barbed clips that are part of the seal that press into holes in the tub.

Or so I think...

My 'Dec '70 55 has NO holes in the tub, but the used part had only (1) barbed clip still intact in the seal itself. It looks like there SHOULD be about 20 of them.

I don't know why my tub has no holes for the clips, but I can drill some!

I also thought about bonding/glueing the horizontal run, but the tailgate mashes it pretty good, and it has to stretch slightly between the two verticals.

While I'm at it, does anyone know a source for item #38?

Do you actually have item #12? Where is THAT available from??

iirc, it goes on the removable metal channel on the corner of the tub (where the tailgate hinge arm goes under). i'll have to see if any of mine have holes for that w/s. the 75 i just got rid of had it glued in.

Arnold has the original weather strip on the lower tail gate along w/ the plactic clips - I can shoot a photo this evening

If it goes on the cover for the torsion bar then I doubt any clip put into it would survive. The torsion bar is pretty strong and I'd bet it flops around in there when the tailgate is opened and closed.

I'd like to know where to get that weather stripping for the lower edge of the tailgate or an equivalent as that's one that I do not yet have.

OK, so now I'm REALLY confused...

I re-looked at the SOR parts diagram I attached, and I see that it shows (2) configurations of #12.

I have the u-shaped #12 in the upper image, and it looks like it installs like I said, slipped OVER the thin sheet-metal vertical edges of the tub, and barb-clipped into the tub along the bottom horizontal run.

I will attempt to take photos of my predicament tonight.

Can anyone confirm that they HAVE the U-shaped #12 on their rig right now?

That's it!

Now why doesn't my '71 tub have the holes in the lower sill for the little barbed clips?

And back to my original question-Does anyone know a source for the little barbs installed in the seal itself? They fit into little holes, and at least my used seal has the holes...
