$50,000 Pig ???

The other Baird bakery truck was my pig Wilbur.

Which a local club member has now, curious at what point did the interior get “fixed”?

I found it on EBay with 8700 miles. The guy who got it from Baird bakeries was a boat restorer and went off script.

Then I went further off script adding a 6” Alcan lift and an SM420 tranny.

It was then passed around like a dirty pig until it was rescued my Kim.

Glad it’s safe now.

I bought it. Personally feel like pricing things like this is very subjective. I drive a 62 as my daily. Ive been looking for a 55 at this level of shape that I can do the same. Even reached out to the TLCs and fj.co and was horrified what they wanted for a show piece I could never drive. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Did I wish I could have won the BAT at $30K? Yes. Life is short. I bought a bronco for cheap and a the 62 as well. Given how much I have enjoyed driving them, I would have paid much more. Never going to be a porche or super car guy. and thankfully my commute is only 10 miles/day which at 6-7 mpg is manageable. Kids love it, but completely get why this price seems crazy. Not a latte guy.

Superb. I hope my posts are just a good history of the pig for you.

I’ll say I have easily spent $30,000 on my FJ40 and that is with zero labor and zero paint and body costs. I truly believe it when I see the “value” of a done Cruiser.

I hope you stay active in the section. Pigs rule

Well that does put it in perspective, glad your on here.

PS please don’t drive it in the salt...

totally appreciate the value of these forums. Did the same when I get other cars and couldn't figure stuff out. I have negative mechanical skills but searching these forums has helped find best part vendors and relatively easy projects I can do. Benefit of old cars versus newer that I have to plug in. I can't wait to park this pig in the electric car spot at Whole Foods so I can pay $5 for eggs from a chicken who does yoga.

yeah the salt thing sucks. basically means I am going to stare at it for several months. need to move

funny you say that was just wondering if you can rhino line underneath. probably wouldn't do it with this one but would with the 62.

Glad to here it’s going to be a driver. And even though I didn’t pay top dollar at the front end, there have been countless thousand dollar bills that have come out my back end. Probably close to what just got shelled out for that one.

I look forward to driving mine every day and every day there is no concern or after thought as to what it took for me to have piece of what I grew up with. Sometimes you get to a point in life when you just have take care of business and get off the pot no matter how much your back end is gonna hurt. Thank god my piggy has a comfortable seat.

Congratulations on you score PAW, she is a sexy looking mistress.

Congrats! Glad it will get used! Like they said you can’t take it with you so who cares. I’ll quote Wayne Carini “if you like the car just buy it”

Fluid Film is better because you won’t lock in the bad that may be there. It coats and creeps. Leaves a film then you just add more.

All my Cruisers have a full coating on the underside

Interesting.

How is the Phoenix persons work?
It’s pretty good. However mine needed tires and a litany of other items to make it a driver. Most of the mechanical is done at a Toyota dealer so the work has been good and comes with a warranty. Which is great if you live in Arizona.
