I really like that center console, can you fold the middle row with that there? I know this is a random question but could you pop the cup holders out and flip them around? I was thinking if you would do that you could trim off the front end including that "pocket" with the cup holders to allow the console room to move forward. I might have to steal this idea.

I can't fold the middle row as it is. However the cup holder will flip around. And thank you for asking that. I popped it out and realized that I have a great little space down there for an amp or power inverter.

Not sure of mpg yet. I've been doing lots of short trips around town running errands etc so I havent been tracking. I'll starting taking it to work every day very soon to track mileage. I'm very anxious to find out too.

Ok, I finally have what I feel is an accurate MPGs for the conversion. I am consistently just over 18 MPG. I was hoping for 20 but at least it is better than stock.

I have not set up the tach yet so I do not know my Freeway RPMs but sounds a little high and wondering if the electric lock up isn't working correctly. If that is the case maybe I can get bit a more fuel economy.

Disregard last post. The more I thought about it the more thought that I'd better make sure the electric lock up is working. Seems to be higher rpms on freeway speeds then i remembered the 6.2/ 700r4 combo being. Sure enough I found the wire that goes to the transmission got disconnected somehow.

Good news: I'll get better fuel economy.

Bad news: I got to start all over again logging fill ups and miles. I guess driving around in the cruiser isn't really a bad thing.

New MPG to come....

I have a new and improved MPG. I got the lock-up figured out and now I am running between 20.5 and 21.3 MPG. My Last fill up was the best at 21.3. Not too bad. I can be happy with that.

I decided to change the grill look. The Satoshi grill is a little too much for my taste so I went with a mellower look. I cut out the smaller "slats" and then fiberglassed the holes and put some metal screen behind it. I am happy with the result.

How would you turn off an diesel engine after you swapped it in the LC?
did u modify the transmission for shift points?

Thanks.
The fuel pump is what shuts off the engine. When I turn the ignition off it cuts power to the fuel pump.
I used a 700r4 diesel transmission so the shift points were already set up for the diesel. (diesel governor)

Just thought I would check out this page since you sent me a link. Pretty slick rig you built. I actually remember it from when you blew your first motor, that was the last time I read any of this. I'm glad you have it back on the road and decided to stick with the diesel.

A few new additions to report:
Mounted a 12k winch behind the stock bumper using a harbor freight mount.
Trimmed the bottom of the bumper.
Changed the grill and added a 60 series Toyota emblem. Wasn't sure if I liked it at first but its growing on me.
Went wheeling:

New updates:
Replaced all seats with cloth heated from a non-US cruiser. They are much more comfortable to sit in and look great in the interior.
Also built and installed a interior spare tire mount. Not a big fan of having the tire inside but it will have to do for now until I can buy a rear bumper with a swing out. Had to make room for the OBA tank (currently working on) and aux fuel tank (sometime in the near future).
