@Vexvader is in that same area with a project 55.
Yep, I am here in Atlanta and have the LC bug as well. I have two of them. Let's connect sometime!! The pic of the 55 on a trailer is at Buc-ee's in Leeds Alabama on the way home from picking mine up in Mississippi. Welcome to the club!!!

It's been almost 2 years since I posted on this thread. Where has time gone and what have I been doing with myself... Have been making some progress on Moose. Got her running pretty good and the brakes working. Have been doing mass amounts of body work, replacing rocker panels and doing some wiring here and there. One distraction has been Calf, the 55 trailer (Which I have posted in the trailer tech thread).

Moose and calf are looking pretty good on their first drive together:

Since I was asked what I have done under the hood, here you go with a couple of pictures:

Brake Booster, master cylinder and replaced a lot of brake lines. The front is already converted to disc. Has very good stopping power
New clutch master cylinder and hose to the slave cylinder
Rewired the entire ignition and installed a new (Non-OEM) fuse box.
Installed a new 130 amp alternator.
New Plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
Drained out the old fuel and refilled with Non-Ethanol. Added an inline filter to help catch junk in the tank.
Added Radiator overflow bottle and replaced rubber heater hoses.
Replaced rear output housing with dual seal set up from valley Hybrids. No more leaking
Added floor transfer case shifter. Unfortunately the dash parts were stuck.
New valve cover gasket and cleaned up cover and painted.
Installed a new steering stabilizer.
I have changed all fluids except the front axle since I plan to rebuild the knuckles soon. Nothing dire, just a peace of mind thing.

I think that covers all of the “under the hood” stuff. Runs pretty good and sounds good with the header and exhaust.

And why not a pair of those "blacked out" LED headlights that all the kids are doing these days:

Its been a while since I have provided an update. Restoration continues on Moose. Albeit slow. Between working on the 55 trailer, "Calf" and only having late nights where I can't make too much noise in my garage in a poorly insulated home, I do what I can. I have gone about as far as I want to on the trailer and have lost interest due to not really needing a trailer or having the space to store it. Soon I will be looking for a new owner willing to finish the little critter.
But on to the full size 55:
I have been driving it around the neighborhood somewhat regularly and although enjoying the sound of the 1f motor chugging along, I thought some music would enhance the moment.

So I installed a blue tooth stereo into the dash:

And made new door cards to hold the door speakers:

And then made rear cargo area panels with 6x9 speakers powered by a 600 watt amp:

While I was at it, running all the power back to the amp and such, I decided to add a fuse box for future accessories and some 12 volt plugs:

Whoa that's big!

A guy in our local club, YOTA Atlanta, had a set of 80 series rims and 38" tires for sale for a good price. I love me some 80 series rims. Both my 80 and Tundra had them so may as well have them on the 55 as well. But 38's.... Holy Moose, that's some serious rubber... But you know I had to try them on. After moving the rear axle an inch back and the front an inch forward, they fit!!!:

Author's note: I dont plan on having this large of tires. But had to see how they look. While I was at it I went ahead and put in caster shims. Today Moose is much farther along on body work.

Soon, I will be putting lipstick on this pig.

Any new pics of the trailer?
I do need to update my trailer build thread as well. But here is a recent pic of the trailer:

Here is the front toolbox that house the battery, fuse box, fuel transfer pump connected to the OEM fuel tank and fresh water pump connected to the 7 gallon tank install in the bed:

I have also bedlined the inside and installed 12 volt outlets. Have hinges installed for the top. Just need to do some finishing on the top, which is a shortened 55 roof and put in some gas struts.
