"MAKE SURE THAT THE TOP OF THE TANK IS NOT IN CONTACT WITH ANY AIRCON OR HEATER PIPES. THIS IS IMPORTANT."

 Yeah, I bet that is important.

Along the line of brainstorming- I found this CNG tank that replaces the spare- Removing the spare tire mounting bracket and relocating the evap canister would allow for a 25 gallon tank. 2 paths converting this tank to a be a petrol transfer tank or undertaking a CNG conversion... (smile)

I think that the center is not utilized for fuel storage so again brainstorming and having a little fun it could be converted to an onboard air tank...

Apologize if this was already mentioned, though I don't think it was.

On the clublexus forums, this option from Longranger / ARB was posted by member zink. A 70L aux subtank model supposedly made to fit for models fitted with a charcoal canister, while leaving the spare in place. If this lives up to it's promises, it'd be a perfect option in my mind.

EDIT: It's not clear, but this may or may not be compatible with US spec models. Something about australian models having a charcoal canister in a different position. Also looks like this accessory comes with an add on charcoal canister to accommodate the larger volume of vapor.

Looks like the carbon canister gets relocated somewhere to the side of the chassis?

I took the dive order and received the Tembo / Excel gravity feed auxiliary tank. The tank construction is top notch- there looks to be welded in baffles- The tank installation looks to be straightforward, the complication will be relocating the evap canister. Extending the hoses will be straight forward the wiring harness extension and fab up a bracket will be the most difficult. I am trying source the wiring harness connectors to build an extension cable rather than splicing into the OEM harness. If not I am going to cut the OEM cable (fun). I am most likely 10 days to 2 weeks from taking this on.

^Awesome. Thanks for being a pioneer.

If someone can identify a good relocation spot for the evap canister, that'll really be the ticket. I wonder where the OP (@dtt255) put his?

This is a fantastic idea. Thank you. I hope is not going to be too difficult to turn it into a regular gas tank. I been looking for six months
Thank you

All the plumbing is included for connecting the tank. There is no transfer pump or fuel float/fuel guage as the tank is gravity feeds the main. The only wiring required is extending the EVAP and maybe the vapor filter harness- then some hoses and fittings. Still thinking through the relocation approach.

Forrest did you ever get your Tembo setup installed and working......what's the latest???
