45LV to OME or leave it stock

Another part of the issue with lifting it is.....this 45lv owner is getting older and seeing how the tailgate is such an easy design to get stuff in the bed as it sits.....not sure if another 3+ inches will make my life easier. it's not that am a fatass or really out of shape (could still loose a few, but can out work most 1/2 my age, just the next day kills ) or have any serious aliments, still have all orignal parts but some have more wear than the miles would suggest, and while reproduction parts are available I prefer to keep the originals as long as I can. besides a good start on some arthritis.....which the doc just wants me to eat a bunch of ibuprofen for now. but I can see maybe another 10-15 years of driving old cruisers......guess I should enjoy them more now

TMI:p

OME and de-leaf the overloads. It will settle down, just maybe not as fast as the owner!

thanks guys, will be doing OME in the next few months.

my 40,45,60,100 all have OME suspension and I do agree they look right and I love the ride. I agree I don't think lifting it tastefully will hurt its value...and I have no plans to sell it so it doesn't matter. I know it will ride and drive so much better with OME.

I'd run some of my old 33x9.5's but honestly I can't see putting 10+ year old tires on a rig with a single line brake system........just seems like one more roll of the dice. I am not worried about the brakes at least, every single bit is new(but I should have really split the darn system and got the non booster master from Mark, yes Mark I do listen ;)

I do also have to work on the exhaust routing, to get it out of the rear wheel well and exit under left rear door. Should not be a problem.....might even have to use that new OEM muffler I just got from Toyota

good news is as long as I don;t fix the wiper motor.....it won't be out in the rain ;)

Do the lift before you fix the exhaust. Trust me, it'll make a difference in the long run.

Front springs on mine are stock and I beefed up the rears with 2 full length springs in each pack.
33x10.50s

Personally I love the way it sits and rides.
