I dont post here much, but help me out. I am thinking about buying a Cruiser. I really like the Troopys, but one can get a nice US spec FJ40 for half the price. The LV would have to wait because I would have to save for longer. But I could get a 40 soon. Plus I can get a diesel LV right hand drive. I like to be different. What are the cruiser crouds thoughts on this?

I am going to make it to a meeting sometime, just not in a Land Cruiser.

well if you want to be different than this crowd, then id say the LV esp w/ a diesel. if you want to be different than most every other 4x4 in the neighborhood, a 40 would do fine. let us know how it turns out.

unintended 40 besmirching

Ain't no fj40 "just regular". :flipoff2:
With that said get a 40 for now and you can begin
the joys of owning a Legend right away. You can
always unload it when that 45LV ya just gotta have comes along.
That is if you can part with it at that time. ;)

I already have a 73 LC that needs work to run, not sure about the motor, needs other stuff too, plus it is 600miles away in Louisiana. A lot of work. I also have 2 Monteros and a 84 Toyota crawler.:D Soon to sell one Montero to get more money for a Cruiser. I have always liked Cruisers, I dont know why I did not get a good one yet.

An LV would be sweet though, but expensive. I might just get a 40 so I wont be broke. Hopefully this summer.

ROFLMAO......I thought I smelled a Hoarder. Smells kinda like 90wt.
I have to warn you that besmirching your 73 with comments like that
above and it'll never run. They need TLC and understanding. ;)
There are NO bad Cruisers......some just need extra TLC to set the beast
loose.

Dumping my 1966v wagon for $6500. Drove it 250 miles last weekend with no problems.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=148687

This will be the best condition, least expensive wagon that runs well that people will see for sale for a while. I have over $10K into it. $6500 without the rims and tires (I have originals to put back on) or $8K with them. Basically the price of an average 40.

I'm selling cuz I'm moving in 6 weeks and have 5 cars/ cruisers. Most of 'em gotta go. I have a buyer but he's not sure he can get the $$$ by the end of June.

I have updated pics of the interior and some additional work done since these were taken.

must...resist....temptation

I get pissed off every time I drive it that I have to sell it so please put me out of my misery. Plus my new troopy is arriving Friday......

I'll give ya $5k cash money...then I have to figure out how to get it to GA and then what the hell I am going to do with it besides look at it in my garage! :)

It's in my garage and I did import it myself. $6500 is the MUD price. It's also the cost of my soul....your pick.

I drove a 76 55 from rapid city to ATL...it can be done!

It's more the noise factor and also that it would cost less in jet fuel to get there 100X faster. I could strap some jet engines to the wagon.

I think I have officially hijacked....sorry.

I would like some info on importing. Is it pretty easy. I have searched and read stuff. Do you just have to fill out the DOT and EPA form? And pay duty? Do you have a write up about it somewhere? I want to import my own Troopy.

Can't reveal all my magic secrets but it's not all that tough. trial and error. What troopy are you looking for and how much $$$$ are you budgeting?

I have decided I like the Troopys the best. Can you get them cheaper than ones you can find already in the states? I dont know exactly which one I want? Basically, a good condition good running one. Diesel would be awesome. How do I find one to import? If I am asking too many stupid questions, let me know.
