A friend of mine is looking for one of these and I could swear I saw here that someone was repopping them. I used search and the scrolled though the last six months of posts to no avail. Am I dreaming or was someone just wishing it'd happen?

Thanks

I've got a spare set.. And had originally wanted to pursue. but only if there is enough interest. Just hadn't gotten around to it yet. was saving for home purchase.

Kent, Erik saved me from having to send you one of those 'cryptic' e-mails saying ''I know 'someone' that has some............"

I continue to harbor high hopes that repro-ing these will be Erik's everlasting contribution to the LC community.

From what I know of Erik, you should tell your friend it'll be a while.

;p

ah the gentle persuasion. :)
I'll look much harder at it.. I actually spent 3-4 hours cleaning out the shop last night prepping for getting back in the swing of things.

well.. Lemme keep diggin out the shop and I'll pursue.. Bull, I'll holler if I need help.

Any idea of a source to call first would be the better question.. I thought I had a source in LA somewhere.. Anyone? Bueller? I'll get the ball rolling, been googling up some info.. Don't want to go to aus and wait a year tho.

Ok. Any thoughts on what Durometer such a gasket should be?
Examples Tire tread are normally 70 and a rubber band is approx 25. There is a lot to learn. Apparently door seals are approx 55?
Anyone an engineer here? I can change the durometer with a flex additive.

Yes Mark.. I'm actually enjoying this project! Learning quite a lot!

Erik, the two guys to ask about durometer tech would be Robert Furman [62fj40] the guy who repro'd the bugcatcher weatherstrips, and Steve Kopito [landcru] the guy whose helped foxfab with the lenses and mudflaps. They both have info from talking to rubber manufacturers.

Come to think of it, so would PV cruisers Seth Smith, who repro'd the 55 tailgate rubber.

So there's three guys you can PM right here on this board for help.;)

Carry on!

Am carrying on.. will report back when I have more info or pics. Very educational and learning a new trade. Thank you all for your gentle persuasion.

sorry. Snow goose season.. Been out in the mud ..
I have most everything just need to try out a mold. after reading a book or 2 on molding it's not rocket science.. I'm gonna give it a shot..

Someone in this forum was offering to 3d replicate this gasket I have if I got it to Moab.. Who was that? and can you ping me? if not I can send it to a rubber company for 3d creations.
