Lol yeah it kinda was...

Reminds me all this talk of broken axles lately i never did drop off that spare longside. ..
Ya, I kinda forgot too! I guess I need to pack the truck and go wheeling again to think about spare axles.

great work... i wish you had a picture I forgot how much crap I had up there... don´t sell off those amby doors as theyŕe my only ones!

don't worry man, we've both experienced having something we gave someone for free show up for sale a week later...I won't be doing that.

there's 4 sets of amby doors around now, so we should be able to get two decent pairs out of em. ;)

Those red front doors are rather nice tho...too bad I just went through the hassle of painting my s***ty ones mustard..

There is some junk there I might just get rid of tho. like that fiberglassed fuel tank...for example...

ya i know... thats why I gave you that s***... because I figured you´d hoard it and pass it on to club members that actually needed it not sell it all for a profit ...

I will be back in nov and we´ll meet up for a beer and bs...

as for that fiberglass fuel tank... i forgot I done that... if one where to weld a new bottom in it it wouldn´t be so bad... i swear i had a fuel tank curse going for a while there!

Right now as I´m sure you recall I have no doors other than the soft ones... but I haven´t thought of a good way to get them from bc to ontario... the amby doors can probubly fit in checked luggage if I can get a set half decent together... I had bought them blue ones with the intent of puting the hardware from the red ones and new bottoms into them....

Did you find all the windsheild frames and s*** that where floating around there? I bet you even recognize some of the parts...

I'm sure we could get them limping that direction with a mud ship...

as for me, got cage tacked together, got it out of the truck which was a bit of an ordeal, finished applying the special blend of chicken poop to the joints and then painted it.

getting it back in should be equally fun...I need a minion.

and mark, saw you drive by, I was out back, it's about 20 degrees cooler on the other side of the shop...:hillbilly:

Yeesh. This technology thing, it's easier to ad this pic straight from my phone...

Damn, I thought you wouldn't be there with the doors all closed. I didn't really have time as it was though. I was on a mission to get a damn trans code from the Ford and pick up the boy from school.

No worries, i leave the front doors closed as much as possible now that i have the north wing to the shop..
I've seen the thermometer hit 44degrees in my driveway. It's retarded when its hot out..

s*** son... look at the bling on that thing! Getting ready to wheel the piss outta that thing huh!!!
hurry up and finish it so you can help pull wrenches on mine, cause my junk isn't getting done...
Good looking cage!

ah, ain't that much bling, just the metaltech front kit, and a couple stock exhaust tubing roll bars scabbed together...and the finest tremclad paint...

If I didn't mess with the cage now, it'd be next summer before I got to it..

and goddam I'd love it if it was finished...:bang:.

just want to get the friggin lid on this week, but apparently the gubment has made the paint I used illegal, and the new style paint doesn't have a code that works for the mootard. So they'll have to use the camera thing. great.

 good luck with the camera... Sometimes they work great...:hillbilly:

You might get lucky with another shop being able to mix it for you.

yeah, I even have the label from the old can, took it in and they still couldn't do it. even has all the tint codes on it. Discontinued colour code they say.

I'll try videl here in nanaimo, they're pretty good usually, after that it's camera time.

Well got the lid back on.

It's painted, tho the colour is off, more just plain yellow, so I'll see if videl can retint the can. My give a s*** quotient on the paint scene is at an all time low at the moment, so I put it back together, figgering I can give it a quick squirt anytime, if it starts to bug me.

Still have amby doors to deal with, so there's still that bs lurking ahead where I'll have the paint out anyways.

hardly a rattle, and truck feels a lot more solid with the 6 point cage holding things together, and most of the hardtop bolts in, instead of my usual 2 or 3:lol:.

Doors almost close with a thunk, instead of a clang and smash.

or better yet, the clang smash and bounce back open...(my personal favourite)

Hmm... clang smash bounce open... that sounds like what my soft doors do... I wonder if I duct tape 2 doors together if I can take them on the plane as a checked bag... or maybe 1 for each checked bag....

Of course I still gotta sort out that roll cage before I can do that... :bang:

Glad to hear one / 1.5 of my tops worked out for you:beer:

 shoulda taken them with ya, I saw tons of room in that 40 for an extra set of doors.

Course you might've had to get out and push on some of those hills, but thems the breaks...

Decided to add a gear today. went pretty quick, started around 830, test burn at around 3

doesn't howl too bad. bit of a bugger to grab first gear tho.

I had the lid off the tranny to peer inside and see how it looked, so I wonder if it didn't go back on quite right...no odd noises from there or anything tho.??

I'll pop things back open tomorrow just to make certain. but I'll put a second pair of vicegrips on the seat bracket and take it for a highway burn first...

In a perfect world i'd have thrown a r/b kit in the tcase and put the 4speed tcase gears into it, but I wanted to see if the box was any good first.

I'm sure I'll be rebuilding it at some point....manana.

Most of these pics are self explanatory, with the last one showing my highly sophisticated driveshaft shortening tool.:hillbilly:

Also, don't mind the soft porn/vaseline on camera lens effect cellphone pics...
