Not too much overhang and still plenty of room for tire growth.

Finito!

Finsh up your -2, get all your red x's signed off, get QC to update your W & B and print out a new chart F:D

SWEET!!! I really dig the way you integrated the tail lights!

nice man, real nice.

will you integrate a hitch, shackle mounts, turn signal protection/covers as well at some point? or leave it as is?

And after a year and a half, a response to your question wantatlc, I was able to get a receiver integrated into it. Not the best pic but I added some tubing to the sides to dress it up a little and add the necessary reinforcement. The plate's also now on the door again.

And not 2 days after I was done with it I hauled this Uhaul about 1500 miles without any probs. I'll post up detailed pics of the mounting of it later but it's pretty stout.

Pretty deep in some transformation mods at the moment, I'll post up some pics of the whole beast when I'm done.

Looks great!
So in the long run how much do you think you spent on the Tire Carrier Build?
Was it worth it? Or would you just buy an off the shelf unit?

Lookin Good.

Thanks!

It's been so long I can't really remember. It probably took 25 - 30 hours, and a few hundred dollars in parts, steel, sandblasting, painting, wire, gas, and electricity. It's more economical to buy one if you don't want to build all of your own shtuff. But the way I do is it is building everything for my rig front to back top to bottom, for the most part that is. That way it fits me and my uses and you really can't put a price on that.

So if you have lots of time, and room you can put one together for less than an off the shelf.

I would do it this way again.
