Thanks for the great review. Roberto got the first one I made and is shown above in the photos. He was a little anxious and took the prototype :).

I have started the production run and am about half done for those of you who have sent deposits.

Here is a photo of the mounting for Roberto. This is the snorkel mounted but with no windshield bracket shown. The back side of the snorkel is pretty much flush with the front of the windshield frame. The snorkel turns upward right at the body line where the cowl meets the wind shield.

pics of installed on my BJ42. I used a 3.25" holesaw bimetal. I used blue painters tape to help from it chippin my paint. template was great. I have not plumbed the inside yet. Great product and solid piece. The stainless steel vacuum tank was exact.

thanks Kevin

You are quite welcome Rob. Your rig is so sharp with the blacked out hood.

A 3.25" hole saw is perfect becuse you need a little wiggle room. The snorkel is NOT actually bolted to the apron. Only to the firewall "wing" and the wind shield hinge. This means that the apron will flex along with the fender.

How is the visiblity from the RH drivers seat?

I have a 40 series with a 350 ramjet motor... with this snorkle work for me .. cause I want one

no issues whatsoever with visibility. The hood blackouts are actually vinyl cling stickers which I bought from a guy here on MUD that was making them. spray the window tint spray down and lay them down to where u want them and then start scraping the air out.

I dont see any reason why it wouldnt, you may have to plumb it differently depending on what air filter canister is installed..

So Kevin, when are you going to start making these for 80's? :p

I mean in reference to cfm of the ramjet ??? do you make this snorkel in a 4 inch topspin?

I can make pretty much any size. I just have to change the layout a bit. What size would you like for the inlet and outlets? It might take me a few weeks though because I'm getting a little backed up with work at the moment.

As far as 80 series go - I haven't even looked at one close enough to determine if I want to tackle it. I'm sure I can make something but keeping it from looking fugly may be a challenge.

Thats understandable, if you ever decide to take up that challenge ill be happy to bring over my 80 as a test dummy.

The tops of mine are 3" OD - not sure what size the Safari top is...
