40-series Rear Bearing Repack

Hey everyone, is there a general consensus on how often you should be repacking your rear axle bearings? Trying to get a feel for what upkeep is necessary back there outside of a full rebuild.

I have not rebuilt the rear on my 76 but I also don't see any signs of problems. The front was a different story.

I don’t know everything but, unless you have a full float rear axle there is no packing. The bearings are lubricated with gear lubricant.

Unless your rear is a full floating axle.
