Greg, that would be pretty slick if you got a beater 40. 
I am in Biloxi and I saw a nice red 40 w/ black soft top on in front of VJ's autoparts.

I need a few items for Stacy's 40
1. I need the left & right windshield hinges, anybody got some?
2. the gas tank cover?
3. what kind of rear seat will fit in between the fender wells of a 40?
4. would be nice to have a later model steering wheel columm?
5. tailights and front turn signals?
any help would be appreciated

Any Jeep flip/fold seat will fit back there and they are readily available.
Gas tank cover for that model will be a challenge. You can easily make yourself one with your skills.
