It was owned by Dean Martin's lesbian daughter.

They had a dude ranch in the 60's in NW Arkansas. I bought 3 FJ-40's at one time up there via a friend.

This thing was relatively complete when I got it, I drug in to MS from Texas and Pete McPherson came down and picked it and took it to Tennessee.

That is where Clutchee came in....

Looks like the FJ-40 in Canton did not sell.

Did not meet reserve at $15,000. I suspect shill biding. It is nice, but I can't see that thing bringing $15,000 in any market. Like I said, I bet the owner thinks its worth 20K +

Nolen, what do you think that 40 is really worth? Does it not have a top at all, soft or hard? Around here I'd be surprised if it brought $10K.

$9-10K is about what I thought. If he'd ditch the ghetto wheels and ostrich upholstery, and if it had a top, I'd say $12K. At least it comes with a wench. :grinpimp:
 
As soon as I get my family in a house in Hot Springs, I will be looking for 40s. My kids said my 100 is lame compared to those cool looking cruisers. Wish I could get one now. It seems like a lot on the market.

John, I may know a guy who'd be interested, and your truck is in his price range. He's a neighbor of mine, here in Austin. Is it roadworthy enough to be driven 600 miles? I'll send him your craigslist ad tonight.

Lee it stops, turns, tracks straight. I wouldn't cruise much over 60 but Ive done that on I -55 no problem. Tell him to email me for pics. Jesaucier26@hotmail.com. Thanks....love to see her get a good home where I can keep an eye on her!

edit.....the top is in pieces and I have to figure out if all the tires will fit in the back along with all the parts.....trailer may end up being better...we can talk if he wants

John, you didn't ask but...I'd rethink the sale and keep the truck if possible. I sold my first 40 for what I thought were sound reasons and then suffered through 20 years of seller's remorse. It's a common phenomenon among 40 owners. :frown:

I'll send your contact info to my neighbor. He's not a wrenching sort of guy but I think he'd give it a good home. Whatever happens, good luck to you.

Yes on #1, but not sure on the motor and wiring.
Do you mean the windshield frame hinges?
Consider the Dashman Box?
 
I will take a picture of what it is(not sure what is called). It is the metal part that the big plastic head bolts go through and attach to the windshield frame. I think that is how it works. So do you have a wiper assembly? I need everything from motor to arms.
I will take and post some pics tomorrow.

Don't have any windshield knob brackets.
I do have a wiper assembly in unknown condition. I'll try to check it this afternoon.
