One of the bolts fell out into the case. Got Georg on it. I'll have a replacement this week. I got lucky that it didn't lock the t-fer case up!

You sure did. How much has to come apart to fix it?

I just have to Put a bolt back in that location right inside the inspection cover. Easy. We rotated the whole assembly and I watched it. No damage to the gear set. Amazing cause the bolt is chewed up. Bossman will remember me checking underneath my truck the last time we were at superlift. I thought I had a yolk on the D/S hitting the skid plate. I now know what it was! It quit after a few minutes and works fine. Got lucky!

Glad ya didnt mess up my 40, Bodean ; )

Sacrifice a yeungling to the cruiser gods.

Cruiser Gods love the "PURTY" truck.

Planning on it Lenny!

Yeah we didn't need another project at Jrobs cruiser garage this close to the Crawl!

Looks like I only have the belts for the jump seats, not the shoulder belts that would have come with my year model.

If anyone has a set of shoulder belts laying around, I'm a buyer...

Thanks,

What year? 1976?

The purdy truck is all well again. Got her back up to snuff today. New bolt and no leaks. All of the bolts holding the T-fer case to the tranny were loose! Loctite and torqued. Ready for the Crawl guys!!

Still can't believe Jrob didn't wash it... He sorry!

Yeah I just had to tighten the bolts you didn't tighten on the initial build Lenny! lol

I can't talk about my boy Jrob. In his defense the t-case didn't have any gear oil in it so he felt like he couldn't move it. He still alright in my book! Ha!

Guys,

Have a question that's probably gonna seem elementary to you guys.

Engine runs great at idle, and revs up to redline in Neutral.

But when driving, when accelerating or when going uphill (basically when the motor is under stress) the engine sputters and sometimes backfires.

I'm thinking this has to be a timing or carb issue, right?
