I don't see how. It was inside the actual tank. No way it gets there without being intentionally put there.

EDIT: I guess it could be the tether, but I can't see any way it would attached to the cap. But I don't see it on any SOR diagram...

Glad you figured it out.......just a guess based off of the pic. Tank, actually, whole truck looks great!

Ha. You guys give Shush a hard time!

I just wish I knew why/how it would up IN the gas tank.

I'm going to hazzard a guess that it was dropped into the hole where the gas goes in?

Now I'm catching the hard time.

No, the only way for that to have happened would have been for it to have been straightened out, which it wasn't. One of the POs probably dropped it in the tank so he wouldn't lose it maybe...tank was out if the truck when I got it

It's mostly Nolen that gives me a hard time and it's:
1. because he can't accept that I know more about fuel caps and
2. when I came on board I took some of his spotlight by starting about 3 threads a day and asking 10 questions a day and generating one or 2 explosive take overs of perfectly good threads.

I've learned:meh: but he still has to deal with
3. I'm better looking than he is:flipoff2:

Nope. It's because you are a tool shed :D

Vacuum supply line on the head or valve cover??

That's what I thought too (manifold or vacuum) but the hose isn't long enough to reach anything like that. And it looks to be an oem hose with specific bends in it.

I won't be back at shop till Friday, so if anyone with a stock setup has time to eyeball theirs it would be much appreciated.

I think it goes to the carb base. I'll have to look at my Weber set up. It doesn NOT go to the valve cover! It is what supplies the vacuum to the booster.

That would be great man. If you can post a pic that would be awesome.

FWIW, on the late 2F, that vacuum is supplied by a n!pple on the intake manifold. That hose looks to be long enough to reach where that n!pple is located.
