Good news for Lash is there is an ex-surfer that lives in MS, me. I've had plenty of experience repairing boards as well as building speaker boxes for the gay rice burners that want sound but not the weight of a wood box. If you are trying to extend a hard top let me know. The key to building fiberglass panels is building a good mold. It's a real pita but it can be done.
I'm really glad that there is someone with more than my rusty floorboard repair experience that can help. It would have been REALLY hard to cover my mistakes on Lash's hardtop with carpet!

Thanks everybody. I really appreciate the encouragement!
Changed the design of the front tub on the fly. I want to make it so I can cut off the current tub and replace it with a better one in the future. I'm moving forward with this one due to time constraints, but will have my eyes peeled for a decent tub in the future. Its hard to believe I've used or have a place for 44 feet of 1.25 x 14 ga square tubing just making the front tub frame. There is also over 10 feet of unistrut! I'm happy with the amount of storage between the floors in the front tub.
Hardtops, doors and hatches will have to wait till tomorrow. Pics:
Never really thought about it but couldn't you pull the ring gear out and reduce some drag. The pinion wouldn't turn( good thing) and the carrier would still support and allign the axle shafts. Just thinking out loud...
What are you trying to say? You got something aganist surfers?
As far as joining 2 pieces of fiberglass together it will be a little difficult due to the fact that the top will be thicker at the joint. The best way to do it will be to use the two tops as a mold and add layers the full length of the top encapsuling the two pieces together. Other wise the joint will stand out and will be prone to cracking.
