Gents, I need to know the length of a 4 speed with a one piece transfer case, from bellhousing mount flange to park brake drum face.
Thanks.

Do not have a set bolted together but measure the transmission just under 12" and transfer case just under 10". Combined would be right around 21 1/2" if that's close enough.

@Living in the Past for the win!

For my '71 FJ40 build I'm installing an '84 H41 4-speed from an Australian HJ47 mated to an '85 split case with drum parking brake from a Belgian BJ45. The '71 previously had an H42 with a one-piece transfer case from a '78 FJ55. So I took detailed measurement to check the clearance with the torque tube and to check driveshaft lengths. Here's what I measured.

H41 from bellhousing to transfer case: 10-13/16"

One-piece transfer case from H41 to face of parking brake drum: 10-5/8"

Total: 21-7/16" ---> ~21-1/2"

What surprised me is the fact that the later H41 with drum parking brake split case is actually about the same overall length - 21-1/2".

@4Cruisers actually the only four complete bolted together setups I have not installed are all split cases. 82 FJ40 H42, 83 BJ42 H55F, 84 HJ47 H41 and 88 FJ62 A440F. I have noticed SOR lists four speed driveshaft same from 74-83. Show the front as well as the back being the same. Difference from 7/80 to 8/80 is very small. Have 78 and 82 driveshafts and difference is minimal. This kind of surprised me. Split transfer case just seems like such a larger beefier transfer case.
