Looks Great! Can't wait to see it live and in person!

Thanks.

Today I reinstalled my front drive shaft and sway bar. I had lost the bag with the bolts and nuts for the sway bar. I went nuts looking for them. I thought I had left them at Marty's last Saturday, but that was not the case.
Then my wife says "Have you looked inside your car?". I rolled my eyes, not convinced she took a look by herself and found them in 30 seconds. I wasn't expecting them to be inside the front passenger side door pocket. She's just great. I love her.

Anyway, here is a little write up of today.

Nice job, Alvaro.
did you mean that you have vibrations with the plates, but didn't with the bushings?
Did you have to grind the control arms?
You lowered the front sway bar mounts already, I assume?
And what's the chrome tool you used for the bushings, this some sort of socket?
looks great

Eric,

Yes, with the caster correction bushings there was no vibration. Now that the caster plates are installed, I get a slight vibration on deceleration.
Yes, I had to grind the control arms a little bit so they would not rub against Slee's tie rod.
Yes, I had lowered my front and rear sway bar mounts a long time ago.
The chrome tool, actually an aluminum tool is included by Christo with lift kits that contain Old Man Emu caster correction bushings. Its mission is to help you press out/in the bushings.

Good to know, A. thanks.
Isn't it a bit odd that the vibes would come from the plates? cuz in principle shouldn't they have brought back your angles closer to OEM than the bushing? If it's cuz the Ujoints were worn in the "bushing" position, is it possible that this vibe may have gone away after things "rewear"?

Alvaro-

Have you installed new u-joints in the rear drive shaft yet?
The front dc did not work for me , different from truck to truck, I have 4* of caster with the plates AND the ome bushings. I had both my stock shafts balanced and new u-joints installed and I am 99% vibe free. You might try the dc front with a freshly tuned rear drive shaft,if you have not already. Good luck! Great write up and web page.

John,

No, no new joints on the rear DS. Although I had the rear shaft balanced late last year. No vibes from it.
The front was OK until I installed the caster plates. With the stock drive shaft and caster plates, I get a non constant loud vibe. Like I was driving over the white line on some freeways that have a ribbed surface. I could not figure out under which conditions it made the noise.

I need to measure to see what is the next step I need to take. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Alvaro

Can I take the old 4 inch springs from you?

Alvaro,

Its Miklos and I am always trying to pinch pennies. Can I take those old OME J 4" puppies off your hands? Hit me up at 4WDKing@gmail.com or call me at 650 238 8806 anytime. I saw Navid at TruckFest.

Miklos,

I already sold them to someone else.
Sorry

Alvaro

It's really nice to drive with the sway bar connected once again. Cornering is a lot more confortable. Overall the truck drives like a dream. Sans the little vibration.

In principle your are getting the truck's caster closer to stock, that has nothing to do at all with vibrations.
