I just saw this online from Overland Cruisers I'd thought I would share. Looks like a great conversion.

Another one in the books — 2UZ-FE + H152F–swapped 80 Series!
We just finished this clean white 80, pairing Toyota’s bulletproof 4.7L V8 with the legendary H152F 5-speed. Smooth power, factory-like drivability, and the reliability only a Toyota drivetrain delivers.
This setup completely transforms the truck:
⚡️
Freshly in-house rebuilt 2UZ-FE V8 — broad torque curve, instant throttle response, rock-solid longevity
🕹️
H152F 5-Speed Manual — crisp shifts, low-range control, built for real use
🔧
Clean wiring, tidy plumbing, OEM-plus mount solutions
🎯
Retains factory functionality while massively upgrading performance
From daily road duty to backcountry miles, this combo just works.
Swipe through to check out the interior shifter work, engine bay layout, and final fit & finish.
If you’ve been thinking about waking up your 80 Series with a modern Toyota V8…

I find it wild someone would spend that much time and money on an engine swap, and not take the couple of hours to wipe the firewall, inner fenders and core support clean during the process.

What did you guys do for the fan shroud, I assume in house custom made? I ask as I am in the midst of a 2uz swap and the fan shroud is one thing I have yet to source

I've been told by so many mechanics that I can't count them that cleaning is not their job...hence the reason I do all my own work.

I suppose because it is not a show car .

who are you asking? Jump on that FB post, then ask your question there!

IMO, the kind of shop you would want to do an engine swap is the kind that devotes attention to cleanliness.

Most mechanic shops are not interested in cleaning much. They are setup for high turnover vehicle repair. The time to clean detracts from profits.

A business doing powertrain swaps to an OEM functionality standard is unlikely to identify as a repair shop/mechanic. The skills are different, equipment is different, customers are different.

1 I don’t do bookface, never have never will.

2 upon rereading the original post, I must have missed where they “found the bookface post”. So I was under the assumption the OP was also the builder. Hence my question.

The link clearly shows the OP of the post.
