Based on the latest pictures of your rig , I would have to say I think you should spring it over and get some 4.88's and some 37's . Sell the old man emu's to someone and put some flat stockers back in . I would also maybe take the cables off the front end and add some tubing instead . Looks like you desire to go off road more than on road . iirc your body is not too bad as far as rust goes yet . Maybe try to protect a bit of what is left that is still straight . If you would like to know how much it will cost feel free to pm me and I can help you break it down accurately . If you'd like to wait till we are allowed back in the woods , I'd be happy to go for a wheel with you so you can drive mine and see how it'll work when it's done .

SOA and 37's.... that would be pretty awesome rig.

Sadly, Im still trying to sort out my career and saving money right now is my best option.

Yeah, I do want to do more off roading, but so far, SUA has been treating me pretty well. Rides like a Cadillac offroad (especially when aired down and with the front sway disconnected) and although ive ran into some obstacles that lockers and lower gears would really help, learning how the 60 preforms both on/off road and improving my skills offroad have been the major focus of the Cruiser. (while trying to keep it still a DD/camper rig)

This post about gearing is more of a way for me to learn more about gearing, hear opinions about what works where, and what is the most versatile for my application.

keep you're 3.73s.
I would say go for transfer gears for the long term...
You keep you're highway gears and you get low range.

This is one of the options ive been mulling over for a while, and could probally work for the application I want the Cruiser to go into.
I know Marlin crawler sells a 60 series dual T case adapter, just need to find a 60 T case and then consider getting Marlin's setup.

Transfer case gears get my vote too (not dual case, just change the gears out in your existing case) Talk to Jon (cruiserpilot) about this, as he has done it recently. His first set of gears are really loud, but now he has gone for a second set of gears from a different supplier that are apparently quieter. I forget the details, but worth talking to him about it. I'm sure he'll be happy to give his opinion.

Yeah, I had a day visit with Georg @ Valley Hybrids. This guy is cruiser guru. I discussed my Marks gears, with the straight cut gears.
I really don't enjoy the gear contact whine. It's kind of awful to me, not sure how I'll deal with it on my trip.
That being said, Georg suggested that Advance Adapters T-case gear set is better.

Apparently, the Advance Adapters gear are helical cut, therefore, no whine. Don't quote me, check with AA.
This is your most economical way to maintain drivability, and get it low on the trail.

I have the 3.05 low range, with a slight overdrive. This allows me to boost turbo and get a bit more out of the 12H-T.
If I was doing it again, I'd go 4:1 with 8% underdrive. I'm only running 34" tires, but this would be the best combo
in my opinion. Setting up with 35" tires would be the best tire combo with this, I think.

I also have OME Heavies, and my truck also rides really nice on the trail. But to go to 35" tires, would have to consider
another way to get another 2" lift.

Anybody got an opinion on body lifts on a 60? J

I really liked my low range transfer case gears. Good move all around. Newer versions are quieter but I never minded the noise.
