I'm on the list now. Headers are 2 weeks out as of this morning.

now I just need to start hitting my engine bay with PB blaster

Nick provided the following status this morning

The headers are finishing up in welding today. That being said I would expect them back in here within a week and a half.

Thanks for the update Romer.

5 months for this GB.... The last one wrapped in 2-3 months.

By the way how many of you were swayed to buy these after the dyno thread ?

Didn't sway me either way as the previous GB were pleased but the dyno certainly raises my comfort level. Can't argue with the #'s and it confirms the seat of the pants feeling people speak about after installing them.

Performance gains we're a small %. I have a cracked DS manifold that drives me nuts. It's almost embarrassing when I'm at a meeting with people and I start my truck. That and my power steering pump

part of it is they changed the design

I was going for them before the test, but it certainly convinced me:beer:

It's more dramatic than the peak numbers would suggest. The improvement is everywhere.

I'd like to starting spraying down the bolts I need to undo in a few weeks (the truck sits Monday-Thursday every week). I PB blaster good to use on the manifold bolts? I'm asking because I don't want to spray something that has a chemical reaction or fumes when hot. Also, I will be spraying the motor mounts (driver side primarily), does the passenger side need to be loosened? What needs to come out on the driver side or can I just use the bottle jack to lift the motor up? Is there a possibility of lifting to high and damaging something? This will be the biggest project I've tackled on the 100 so I'd like to go in with no questions and get it done on a Saturday. I work quick when I start something. excuse the typos, I'm on my phone on the go today and was wondering about it.

For parts I plan on ordering all new exhaust gaskets, and studs ( is there a official name or part # I can give my dealer?). Anything else I should pick up?

I went into mine and gave them the VIN, and when they pulled up the EPC, did the old "2 of those", "6 of those", "16 of those" etc, etc, etc.

P/Ns, off Toyo DIY, verify with the dealer EPC:cheers:

(2) Manifold Gaskets 17173-50021
(16) Manifold to Cylinder Head Studs 90126-10015
(2) Header to Cat gasket 90917-06065
(16) Header bolts 90179-10070

Thank you so much. I will order the gaskets and studs tommorow.

On the other hand, I found some 2.25" high flow cats. Are they vehicle specific? I plan on a 18" Magnaflow muffer as well someday.

The headers have bolts to the cats... no need.

When I/we did my truck and darins we used all new lock nuts (16) and ordered a 8 spare studs, I think we used 3 studs in total.

The high flow cats will probably drop the torque numbers a bit.

I remember you posting how long it took you. How many hours did it take you again? Any suggestions? I've read every tip I can but any added would be great.

We really took our time.. breaks, lunch etc. My truck was first and took about 13 hours...figuring things out etc. Darin's took about the same but that was because some of the things we learned were hampered by the AHC being in the way on the DS.

I could do it now in about 8 hours on an LC as there would be no trying different techniques.

Jack up Truck in front.
Remove both Front wheels.
Remove both fender liners.

PS:
Loosen PS side Cat to manifold bolts and disco O2 Sensor.
Remove PS O2 sensor.
Remove PS Heatshield and throw away.
Remove PS manifold.
Remove old gasket at head.
Clean up area and install new gasket.
Install Header on PS.
Install O2 Sensor.
Reroute O2 sensor wires and connect
Bolt Header to CAT.

DS:
Loosen DS Motor Mount
Loosen DS side Cat to manifold bolts and disco O2 Sensor.
Remove DS O2 sensor.
Jack up Motor 2-3 inches
Remove DS Heatshield and throw away.
Remove DS manifold.
Remove old gasket at head.
Clean up area and install new gasket.
Install Header on DS.
Lower Motor.
Tighten DS Motor Mount.
Install O2 Sensor.
Reroute O2 sensor wires and connect
Bolt Header to CAT.

Install both fender liners.
Install both Front wheels.
Lower truck

You need to have every kind of 14mm wrench you can get to hit all the angles on the DS stud nuts - It's crazy.

If one has AHC (i know you dont) Getting around the lines is treacherous.

By the way how many of you were swayed to buy these after the dyno thread ?

I was swayed to buy because of the cracked manifold, performance gain is a nice bonus.

The dyno numbers helped with decision only a little bit, but the general consensus of the seat of the pants performance and actually driving a friends 100 with DTHs installed was really the factor. As far as the production time difference between this group buy and previous, I know that the new SS production differences will make the wait worthwhile.

Status update from Nick

They are back from welding and in Ceramic now. Should be ready to ship early next week
