Jon we need to get the sponsors listed up in the original post.

edit: Jon's probably already at FJ Summit isn't he? :flipoff2:

There has to be a raffle or something!

Oh yeah, I'm assuming the weather and territory won't allow for boy to go swimming? Coming from Arkansas, I'm sure he think it's going to be cold up there no matter what anyway.

I am totally spamming this thread but whatever. My wife asked last night "Are you planning on having your truck looked before you take this trip?" Being as I am not made out of money I said no. But it sure would reassuring to have someone who knows what they are talking about look it over! I am just a pretend mechanic in the Air Force, on airplanes...eeek!

There is a small stream near the campsite, but it might not be moving enough swim and it has runoff from the mines, so I would not advise. There will also be some high altitude lakes we might pass on some of the trails. If he is brave, he might try to swim, but they will be cold.

If you mean high mountain lake swimming......super cold water temps. However, right in town at the Ouray Hot Springs is a GREAT spot to take him swimming!

The park in town is really nice. There's a small playground for the little ones, a terribly planned out skatepark......plenty to do.

This whole event is supposed to be about relaxing with new friends, enjoying some fantastic scenery and getting out on the trails with other 100s. No one has to go on a trail everyday, everyone is free to enjoy dinner at camp or go hit the town. Everyone who has confirmed will get an email from "The Jonfather" with more detailed information. Some of you may want to venture out on your own, and by all means, do so. There may be an impromptu game of cards at camp, or ladderball, or a brewery run. Bluecruiser might drink too much and fall in the fire, or hit on someone's wife.

Just about anything you want is within an hour drive. I fully understand some folks wanting more information...... Especially those with kids and wives who are coming out here for summer vacation. There are a handful of us who know the area well and can help you get to, or find anything you want. Jonathan is there right now, I was there last week, Nakman was there the week before that. Hotels, food, campgrounds with or without toilets, primitive camping, showers, pools, parks..... All available. Ouray, Ridgway, Telluride and Silverton are outdoor Meccas. We're not traveling through the Australian Outback, we'll be sharing the trails with everything from RZRs to built buggies to rented Jeeps with nervous drivers.

Wanna see Ralph Lauren's Double RL Ranch? You can drive right through it. Wanna see Tom Cruises neighborhood? Some of the nicest homes with views that are worth the $$ they paid for them. Some folks may find they don't like the heights or the exposure. Thats fine, I have some fantastic suggestions for you that are easy to find, very mild, and just as scenic. My wife loves traveling those roads. She HATES shelf roads and refuses to ever drive another. Or......if you're up to it, jump in on one of the runs and see some of the most beautiful and rugged country anywhere in the world. No one will be bored or without options. As said early on in this thread, Poughkeepsie Gulch is the only trail that really isn't doable in a stock 100.

You will have cell service in town. I'm on Verizon and get full 3G. You will not have Verizon service in camp though.

Wow! I have to read every post just to find out much people are going to loath me upon their arrival.....LOL...I'm not that bad guys, really........most of the time....not that bad...

Hey guys,

I've been a longtime MUD member but primarily hanging out in the 80 section. I was going to be riding along as a passenger with DJWUZJ but the stars aligned for me to pick up a clean, stock '04 last weekend.

The goal before the trip is to mount some 305/60/18 Nitto TG's, pulli off the running boards, and moving some things from the 80 over to the hundy for this trip.

Looking forward to meeting everyone and breaking in the 100 with a nice long trip from DC.

^^Welcome! Glad to have you! I believe we can still get a shirt(s) ordered for you if you're interested.

^^^ Nice find Cruiserhead05 and welcome!

Was just looking back at the 2nd post list and it turned out to a big group!
It's nice we" ll most likely have smaller groups going different directions according to experience and vehicle capabilities!

Very excited!

Can someone bring a swr meter and help me tune my new cb. I don't know anyone around here that has one nor do I really know how to do it nor is there a cb shop anywhere near me. (Can one use nor that many times in a sentence?) also what cb channel will we likely be using so I can have my ears on upon arrival.

Good idea! I have a magnetic mount and a brand new CB, I have no idea how to use any of it! NOR will I get real chance learn about it until I get there! NOOB CITY!!!

I have to cancel my plans to go on this trip. My buddy planned a last minute wedding that weekend... in Iowa :/
I'm really bummed about not being able to go. I was really looking forward to a fun weekend excursion since I've had no time to get out to the mountains since I started my new job. I was also really excited to meet all of you and see all your awesome 100s.
I debated this for a while because I'd rather go to Ouray than Polk City, but I think I made the right decision being there for my friend on his special day.
Have fun!
I hope to meet you all another time.

I have one, and I'll bring it along. HOwever, I would recommend a step ladder or something like that if your antenna is too high to reach by hand (I needed one because I am a shorty).

I'll need to tune mine too because I yanked the one of of my CJ-7 project and will be running a new K30 magnetic antenna because I like to be able to remove it when not on trails.

From the interest this year, I'm sure they'll be more opportunities.
