91 with 91k miles! Pretty sure I own the lowest mileage 3FE in the country!
Everyone on here that has the rare and ultimate 3FE equipped 80 post here, and don't forget to mention any 3FE specific junk you've done!
Hopefully this will make it easier to find other 3FE owners to ask for help, etc. when that rare problem arises!
RE-Edit: aw hell, chat away, just give me enough info to compile it to a "database" type arrangement so that I can make a thread with everyone who has done what and who just owns the beastiest 80's
Vehicle: 1991 and 1992 FJ80's
Location: South Central North Carolina (Right near Uwharrie Nat'l Forrest)
3FE Junk: 1) Custom 2.5" Exhaust (pics to come)
2) De-smog (in progress, write-up to come)
3FE Issues: Coolant Loss (plastic tank crack, suspected rear heater and engine bay by-pass hoses)

I hit 147k today in my 91'. who has less than 91k?
yep, embrace, maybe I will check the adjustment on the transmission cable or whatever they call it. Interesting you believe gaps get bigger with warming up, did not think of it that way. I thought of it like gaps would get smaller as metal expands when they warm up as far as metal to metal contact with gears and bearings. But of course fluids and grease become thinner with heat. Thanks for your perspective.I read it’s a bunch of play in the system taking up. Makes sense it would be worse when warm and gaps become larger. I only know what I’ve read on this forum and they all say to embrace the clunk. Guess we’ll see if mine does it but I didn’t remember it doing it when I bought it.
Does anyone here experience the same?, Increased clunk with warm up?
after searching mud pretty extensively I am going with 33x10.5r15. Some say you can go 12.5, but with the stock 7" rim, i'm cool with 10.5's. have not changed them yet b/c my 31's are newishAnyone know the largest tire size that will fit without a lift? 31? 33?
opinions vary, check around the site. Some say 12.5's are ok, but they are generally not approved by makers for a 7" rim. I have no real world experience with them yet...and it is the internet so, you know...ok. So 33s it is![]()
