Anybody put a 3FE into a 45 Lwb. ? Pretty straight forward swap?
Secondly. Would a 3B be enough power and a straight forward swap?

@DomSmith did a great swap, not very straight foward when it comes to the master cylinder mounting!
I have a 3b in my 45 Troopy and it does well, but it’s turbo’ed which really helps on hills.
3 fe bolts in, 3 b requires custom engine mounts..

so the 3FE other than master cylinder is much like putting in the 2F ?
Does anyone make an engine mount for the 3B that bokts right in?

I love the 3FE in my SWB in front of a 4 speed... the plan is to eventually convert it to a column shift but that’s going to take some real work. And 3:70’s will be next for a little more freeway cruise. Also considering an ECU upgrade so we can program it better for a manual transmission.

As with any swap there’s a ton of little stuff that creeps up. The 3FE stuff starts at about post #364 in my thread:

I would say the hardest part is the wiring harness. Mating my old 45 harness to the 3FE. Fortunately for me @cruiserbrett built the harness for me from a few harnesses along with new connectors and bits and pieces. It’s amazing.

I won’t speak for him but I think he was planning on making more with all new parts for guys that want to do the swap.

if you’re ever in SoCal you can come drive it.

I’m not an expert but happy to answer any questions.

Good luck!

I've got some weld in ones from someone who was reproducing them years ago.
maybe they could be bolted in?? I could look at them when I get home on wednesday.
