3FE (for FJ62) overhaul/valve grind gasket kits (1987-1990)

EDIT: these tables suck.

Since the Engine Overhaul kit, 04111-61070, for the 3FE is NLA, I had to go through the exercise of finding all the individual parts. I didn't see the need to keep it to myself. l verified the part numbers in the US EPC; I added the timing cover seal and freeze plugs to the list; they were not originally in the kit.

The only one it couldn't find was water pump cover gasket, 16124-61250. It appears to be in stock in Canada.

I know there are cheaper aftermarket kits (e.g. Victor Reinz, 01-52065-03, etc.), that are about 1/2 the OEM price. I needed an OEM set.

The valve grind (gasket) kit, 04112-61060, is the headgasket, intake/exhaust gaskets, and the two exhaust pipe gaskets, from this list.

At quick glance there are some minor inconsistencies with that table, for example the 90430-12005, shown as QTY 1 but you'll want at least (4), we include (5) as it gets used. Other than that it looks quite thorough.

Or, you can go the opposite direction and get the carbed 3F gasket kit which is still available and buy much fewer parts to complete a 3F-E kit.

Kurt, thank you. I missed the (4) for the fuel filter, because I wasn't planning on replacing that, and overlooked it in the complete list.

You can’t take the valve cover off without removing the throttle body; ergo, you need the throttle body gasket.

We were fortunate to find a Japanese manufacture offering them. They are an OE to Toyota but not the OE on that gasket. If anyone is really anxious for an OEM throttle body gasket, I do have a couple left that are included in that OEM compilation 3FE overhaul kits we offer but that was NOT part of the OEM 04111-61070/04111-61071->04111-61072 kit if I recall correctly.

Using a 3F engine overhaul kit would definitely kick things off for a 3FE owner, at least the following would apply:
