No the vac line you did … was correct way … not saying u need to plug the dizzy side as well

Did you try bumping the timing to about 12* as mentioned for you to do earlier?
No, Kept it at spec. I can do that. Acceleration is not an issue. Just at the stop. Also, with the Fuel return, have not had a dieseling issue so far. 🤞

I am going to check the following methodically:
  • Disconnect the fuel return line and plug it at the carb and see if the bubbles disappear at idle.
  • Take it for a 20 minute ride and see how the truck performs at a stop.
  • Re-connect the Fuel return and add a Fuel Pressure Regulator on the return line. It appears that the fuel flows through carburetor and out too fast with no restriction, and not filling the bowl.
Will let everyone know how that goes.

Update:

Went for a quick 10 minute ride and came back. No bubbles in the filters. Went 100 miles and everything seems ok. No stalling, no dieseling, no bubbles.

Nearest thing I can think was causing the dieseling, when taking the carb off, I did find some fuel on top of one of the bolts that holds the adapter plate. Perhaps air was indeed creeping in.

For now, I will keep the return line plugged and enjoy the truck. The return line is there if I need it and I have a fuel pressure regulator. But if it is running well, don't mess wit it.

Thanks everyone for all the guidance and patience with my rants. Going to close this thread.

Cheers all:cheers:
