The dream build for many including me is to slap on a set of 35 inch tires. My question is what must be done?
What I have: 0 offset beadlocks, I understand it'll make tucking the wheels in the fender difficult. 2.5 kings suspension, with 2 or so inches at the back and a but more at the front to level the car.
What I plan on adding for 35s: New wider front fenders, lots of cutting in the front and a possible kdss relocation. Regearing (from 4.30 to 4.5, 4.30s came stock with the 4.6lv8 heritage edition, the non heritage editions get 3.90s). That will hopefully take care of the power loss.
Ive seen people call 34.4 inch tyres 35s and 34.8 inch tyres 35s as well. Either sizes are fair play for me as long as it fits without rubbing. Artic trucks puts 35.4 inch tyres I believe and we have done their mod in the past on a previous lc200 but they chop the rear fenders, and unlike the front fenders, the rear fenders cannot be replaced, hence the mod couldn't be reversed.
So My question; is whether the 35s can fit in the rear without cutting the rear fender nor rubbing? Would appreciate the feedback of Land cruiser owners who have done such a project.
