Hi Guys

Planning to change my wheels and tires to 22'' , going for a wider set up

Will 305/45/22 tires fit on a 2016 Land Cruiser 200 with stock suspension?

What is the max tire size that can fit without rubbing?
Also for the wheels what is the widest and lowest offset possible?

Thanks

If only there was an extensive thread on this topic....

its almost a 33" dia tire (32.8") - whats the concern @LCStve
There once was a guy on Mud named THEROK and he shaved rubber off the inside or his 305's to create more clearance - don't do that - lol

So you mean it will fit? no need to shave the rubber off?

sorry cause Im quite new to the forum and haven't found a thread for tire options for 2016 Land cruiser
Thanks

the tire you have selected is 12" in width. on the current stock wheel it will rub like prom dates when turning just before full lock - the diameter should not be an issue at all. If that worries you look for a wheel in the 11.5" width range - or less

Thanks for the reply
how about a lower offset wheel to push it out, will it solve the rubbing issue?
or will the tires hit the outer fenders under suspension compression?

Cause I saw this in the internet, it said it had 305/45/22 Nitto 420S, I really like the look of it.

what wheel are ya looking to roll? 22x? more offset will help with UCA and KDSS rub but will mean you'll need to hack more inner fender plastic out...

maybe 22x9
similar to this

Problem is I dont know what offset he is running, or whether he had made modifications to the inner fender or not

As @kreiten has mentioned if needed you can trim some of the fender liner on the front inner wheel well section of the bumper and if needed trim some of the mud flaps on the rear portion within your front fender without doing any damage to the truck which most of us with a larger wheel / tire combo have done. That may afford you to run the wheel / tire combo you want which is a win!

study the chart @MScruiser put together and see where you may have to compromise based on others experience and successes or go try something new. That's the fun

Depending on where in "USA" you are located I'd look at the local clubhouses and see if someone is near your location in "USA" and they might be down for a meet and greet allowing you to see first hand what it takes and how to go about it, hell they may even help you.

3" suspension lift, 1" body lift, and some low offset wheels or spacers oughta make those fit. Hell you might squeeze some 24s under there. :-)

Stock tires are 285mm wide, so you're adding about half an inch on either side. Just offhand I'd guess at 305mm wide you'll need lower offset wheels like +40. Might need to look into rolling the fenders if you go with a lower offset

Like @linuxgod said a 40mm offset with a 22x9 inch wheel should work out for ya. With that wheel and tire combo you will need to trim/reshape the mudflap and a little plastic on the inner fender, shouldn't be too bad.

Are you willing to drop ~4-5k on something that will make your vehicle ride worse, handle worse, accelerate, and brake worse, to say nothing of what it does to its capability? Because that's what heavy 22" wheels and tires will do. Just a thought but your money would be much better spent on other things for your truck.

It's not exactly my cup of tea either, but to be fair, he's not going to have worse handling/braking/acceleration vs. most of the modified rigs here. Far from it. The off-road focus'd rigs with skinny tires, lift, heavy 65+ lbs tires, armor, etc. are trading off much more than the OP here. To each their own.

My 295/55/20's fit on 20X9 wheels with 40mm offset and I only rub when going in reverse and turning hard. Otherwise, no rub. I realize it's not the identical size as the OP, but pretty close. Hope this helps.

I normally prefer more sidewall, but damn...your wheels and tires look really good!

Thanks a bunch! Looking back, I could have stuffed some 305/55/20's with minimal rubbing, but the 295's don't rub and ironically my speedo is dead on. The 12.5" width really makes Christine feel planted to the road. Of course, ride quality is somewhat compromised with the 20's but I don't mind.
