Anybody know where I can get this 3 port fuel filter? 3/8" in and out and 5/16" vapor lock port. Overall length is 4"

I think you have better luck posting in the proper thread. If you check with the venders section good chance somebody will have what you need. Hold on to your wallet

Old jeep cj's had a filter similar to that except the small port is on the end.

Waste half a can of carb spray and back wash your old filter into a clean bowl and see what washes out. Let it dry in the sun for a few hours before putting it back in.

So sometimes you just have to make do with adapting stuff. I'm guessing it will work even if its bigger and the port lay out is different.

I finally replaced this fuel filter with the only 3 matching port I could find (CarQuest #86424). Ran fine on a couple test drives for 15 minutes or so and then started stalling out as if it is not getting proper gas flow to the Edelbrock 1406 600 carb. In particular when I tried to accelerate almost as if it is getting starved for fuel or flooded. I pulled the specs on the Edelbrock 1406 and it mentions a 40 micron fuel filter. The 86424 is a 10 micron fuel filter which indicates this could be the issue? Now, when I try to start it everything engages but, it won't turn over?

Reading through some threads thinking I should swap the 86424 10 micron filter out with a 40 micron filter to see if it is indeed starving the fuel? I havn't been able to find a 3 port 40 micron fuel filter and wondering if/what the ramifications are if I installed a standard inline 40 micron filter and didn't use/plugged pressure relief line?

Any direction would be great.

If the engine doesn't turn over I would think it's an electrical issue.

Warm days and cold nights will condense water right out of the air into your gas tank and at the station. Put in some yellow bottle gas drier. Take filter off and let it dry out for a few days in the sun (put on your old one it should be dry by now) I keep 3 filters in rotation and use gas drier all winter and spring.

Maybe your fuel pump is weak. Maybe you got a lot of rust and crud in the tank and its blocking the port so the pump can't draw fuel. Maybe the carb is out of adjustment, float level too high, needle valve stuck open, or not opening enough.

Everything engages but it doesn't turn over? What does that mean? The starter clicks but the engine doesn't turn over - weak/dead battery or poor connections - its hydro-locked you can't compress gasoline - pull the plugs and let the cylinders dry out - you oil is likely diluted with gas too. Sniff the dip stick.

I will take the fuel filter off and inspect, try the yellow gas drier, etc........ I rebuilt the carb last Fall and again ran for 6 months great? Any merit to the 10 mesh filter vs the recommended 40 mesh? Any issues bypassing the pressure relief port and going to a straight inline 40 mesh fule filter?

Engine cranks fine (starter engages) but, it won't fire up. I had a complete wiring over hall last Summer and had no issues until recently when it was colder out and I changed the fuel filter.
OK. so the engine cranks or turns over but doesn't start. Why are you using a filter with 3 ports on it? Is the engine stock? why does it have an Edlebrock carb on it. We need to know more about your set up. Various micron filters are not really going to have an effect on it starting, unless the filter is clogged. We also need to determine if its starved for fuel or flooded. Those two things are on the opposite side of the spectrum. Does the accelerator pump squirt fuel?

I like the clear plastic filters so I can see inside. Paper elements can't pass fuel easily when they get wet with water - after they dry in the sun for a few days, they are like new again. My Rochester carb has a big fitting where the fuel enters - behind that fitting is a metal spouge filter, I doubt it will pass fuel if saturated with water, thus I have a gascolator first before my electric fuel pump, then a clear plastic filter after the pump and before the carb filter. Boise has crappy gas.

Why are you using a filter with 3 ports on it?
The third port creates the ability to restore the fuel return circuit that sounds like it’s been deleted. It can really help with vapor lock on a short stop on hot days if everything else is working well. Obviously, you can use a later model fuel pump. But the fuel filter method is cheaper.
