I'm using diesel adapters setup to the hf2av. I'd like to end up with 255/85/16's and 75mph at 2000 or roundabouts. I'll work up some numbers and see what's best off your chart and the Grimm jeeper calculator.

got the second set installed into the 3rds no issues there. ARB's where also fitted in this set and the pinion had to be ground Per the ARB instructions for clearance. no issues or out of the ordinary rear took the same shims as original the front took .005" more to get eh pinion depth where it needed to be.

i'm 315 miles into my first full tank through and just a hair above 1/4 Tank (of course that will move fast) I'm on track for about 18MPG which is up from 15-16 for around town driving stop and go traffic and up from about 12mpg with the 1fz and same 35" tires doing the same routes. This is not bad as the 1st 1/4 i was doing a lot of stop and go late at night dialing in the trans shift points through out the RPM Band.

360 miles light had not come on yet but passed $2.20 diesel and had to fill up. 17.5 mpg mostly around town I'm very happy with the results

Which part the 2.20 a gallon for diesel. Or the potential for 400 miles on a oem standard tank...

Had to rub it In... I was shocked by 2.20. All the other stations are 2.45 and up. Oils on the rise say good bye to cheap fuel.

Yup, I knew you had to rub some salt in.....:)

even here in crazy SoCal diesel was as low as 2.30.......you are doing about 12 cents a mile while rest of us are doing somewhere between 30-40 cents a mile! I would drive to Alaska and back just for fun.

And wow 400 miles a tank!!!!

13.2 lt per 100km in our money, is pretty good economy.

I am running 4.88s with 35s in my 1HDT 80, with tune, intercooler, 3" exhaust, and Gturbo running 26 psi amd running hwy I am averaging 15.5 lt per 100 km or around 16.2 miles per gallon by my sums at 70 mph.

At 85 mph this goes to 14 miles per gallon.

80 mph is 3000 rpm in the 1HDT.

Max torque of 600 rw Nm [450 lb ft] is between 1800 and 2600 rpm and 130kw [175 hp] at the rear wheels, on 35s.

to go back to 4.56s I would expect a 10% better economy, but being auto, and running transfer reduction gears, for the steep offroad stuff, and the Toyota engine loving rpm vs the 4BT.

We did a 1HDFTE into a live axle 100 with 5 speed auto recently, Gturbo, tune exhaust intercooler, and that was 200hp and 800 lb ft on 4.3s with 285s with max torque at 2200 pm at 26 psi boost with cruise speed of 2100 rpm at 70 mph.

Hwy these will get down to 22-23 MPG at 70 mph with this set up.

I dare say the 4BT is a much cheaper option than 1HDT FT or FTE over there though.

I'd love a 1hdt but ya it comes down to cost and part avalibility. You might be in it for similer upfront cost but long run when you can grab.parts anywhere any time. It's about avalibility.

Those are some solid numbers I should be similer if I can ever just cruise at 70mph. At 70 I'm at 1950.

What 5 speed.auto?

19mpg

403 miles light had just started coming on 21.25 gallons maybe 80 miles on the highway that was solid and the rest was traffic and stop and go, my normal around town driving.

Couldn't be happier and can't wait for a cross country to see what solid highway would give me

Man, here in Wichita, KS it's 2.16 for regular and 2.48 for diesel. I love how much less this will end up being. I know that's not a valid basis for a swap, but it's nice nonetheless.

Markets change. Filled up for 2.20 today. And based in the 11-12 mpg that I used to get with the same truck and same style of driving/ route. Actually I do more city traffic driving now with daycare and set times where I used to be able to avoid traffic.
