Hey list, I recently came across a 3.0 V6 for $500 with 40,000 mile on it! But it is out of a Toyota Camary. Will this engine complie with a 1994 Toyota 4 Runner? I'm hoping it will but before I spend any cash I would like to get you thoughts on it........

Thanks, your exprience is greatly appreciated.

I think it's a different engine, and will not swap. I think it's a 1MZ-FE, not a 3VZ-FE.

It's a SIMILAR engine.

The 3.0 in the camry was the 3VZ-FE
-IT was a 24 valve, DOHC motor.

The 3.0 that came in the mini and 4Runner was the 3VZ-E
-12 valve SOHC.

The the blocks will physically swap.
However, the intake for the engine will be in the glove box.
And electrically they are SIGNIFICANTLY different.

Just look into doing a 3.4 swap and don't look back.

Yes, it's similar in that they were both made by Toyota. Otherwise, they share few similarities.

My 3VZ-E has a 3VZ-FE crank and rods.
(I rebuilt it last year)
I guess they are similar enough....

could you take a 3vz-fe long block and put all the origional 4runner stuff on it? Not shure if the wiring harness is different, never seen a camry v6 before.

No
The heads and wiring are too different.

Better to just swap in the 5VZ-FE
