2fe vale cover/head thickness (2 Viewers)

84 fj60, original body mounts, 3fe head and valve cover. Incredible pita to get the valve cover off and am contemplating going back to the 2f one and/or shaving the lip on the firewall. I'd guess that because the 2f cap is designed to go on a taller engine it might fit better.

Can Anybody with this setup confirm this?
Anybody know the difference in 2f vs. 3fe head thickness?

I have the 2F valve cover, and it takes a little fussing to get it on and off, but I wouldn't say it is a PITA.
I rolled back the lip on the firewall, which helped a bunch.

Ditto on DickM's comment. 2f cover and bent lip on mine. It takes some care to get it on and off, but isn't that bad.

Whoa. My experience has been the same as 60 toy ota.

A total PITA to remove the valve cover. Major league pain. Not sure why it should be like this (8-'85 2f). My 2-'75 40 2f on the other hand is a breeze.
