OK, so what would it take to put a 2f into a Chevy 2wd box van? I have the stock sm420 in there right now and also have a sm465. I put that one up to a 3 speed bellhousing and it looks like it is close... I know they put the GM trannies in the cruisers. The box van was set up for a chevy originally. I would just be putting the 2f in there to use it and then sell it. No desire to convert into a 4WD. TIA, Kief.

So instead of a Chevota...would it be a Toyevrolet?

I had a 64 Panel Delivery and the two engines are remarkably similar. Well F and 230 cid Chevy at least....

Why not I say!

Well, I figured since I have a running 2f why scrap the van if I could sell it.
I know you can mate a chevy tranny to a toy tcase but most of the sm420's were behind the chevy V8.

You would have to have an adapter to mate the 2F to the SM420 or the SM465. If you have the adapter, then you would just have to fab up some engine mounts and plumb the 2F into the van electrically and otherwise. You can probably find a complete GM engine for cheap and just bolt it in. That would be the easiest route.

I think the 3speed bell housing behind the F is all he would need.

True, but there's machining involved. You have to make the main hole in the bellhousing bigger, and you have to use a special spacer for the throwout bearing. Its not hard stuff, but the OP would be just as well to sell the running 2F to someone who needs one, go buy a cheap Chevy 292 6cyl and bolt it in. No use mashing things together just because its in stock.

Aside from that, who wants to buy a chevy with a toyota motor? Not me...

I don't see many "cheap" chevy motors. Usually they need work. Not that I will do this swap but I figure the the large input collar of the chevy tranny needed to be reduced or the toy 3speed bellhousing would need to be machined out.
I also see 2f's don't move too fast around here.

I believe it would be Toyolet...pronounced Toy-o-let.
