I can only imagine how many times this has been asked or debated. So given a Land Cruiser 100 and the money for gears and tires, what would you do or not do? Forget mileage and tire wear but be sure to estimate the extra stress or added components needed with the bigger stuff. I'm gonna spend the dough and I'm leaning toward the larger equipment, but is the LC 100 really suited to 35's? I watched Snooks videos of the TLCA stuff in Nevada, Utah, Moab, Rubicon, etc...seems like bigger is better....but what do fellow owners think?

Mike.

No reason to regear with 285s.

'98-'02 LC/LX (these years utilize 4.30 gears): 4.88 + 315R75/16 for great off-road performance with minimal rubbing issues.

Your type of usage is the consideration key; you don't need to do this for gravel/dirt roads.

Search the 100 threads and you will find some great info regarding 35" topic.
