My 700h OT does sound like a diesel time to time at low rpm in and out of the garage/drive way.

I changed the oil in both the GX550 (10K) and LX600 (15K) yesterday. The LX had more metal shavings than I would have expected. I didn’t notice any on the GX whereas I wasn’t really inspecting for it but caught my attention on the LX.

A couple of the shavings were quite large (would have expected these to be caught in the filter, not sitting in the sump?

Anyway, the Lx is under warranty and recall so I’m sure if it is anything, it will be corrected. I am sending oil samples in for analysis on both engines. Will be watching the silver, that seems to be what shows up on these engines when there is bearing wear.

Edited to add build dates:
LX600: February 2024
GX550: May 2024

Just to be clear, you are talking about a May 2025 production LX 700h? Care to share details and source?
No. A V35A-FTS (Type '21) that was produced in May 2025.

Understand that TMMAL follows everything done at Tahara. Tahara leads the way. So if there is a problem at TMMAL, it is also present at Tahara and vice versa.

Yeah I didn’t think so. That’s pretty generic and I am not so sure about this theory that Tahara and TMMAL have the same quality. Care to share your source on these claims?

Lx700hs are produced in Yoshiwara, not Tahara. But either way, we have

- lx600 Yoshiwara
- lc300 Yoshiwara
- gx550 Tahara
- tundra Alabama

all being recalled, so whatever is causing the recalls is present in all the plants.

You can think what you want. Facts are facts.
They sure are, so long as substantiate with a source and not tell-tales or "I heard that somewhere or read in so and so forum". The link you attached is not even remotely related to a 2025 model failure, let alone to an LX700.

That's the old 2024 recall document. (Which is pre LX700). Where's the new recall document? Has it been made publicly available yet?

Also what's the source on the May 2025 Tundra failure? Some random post on the Tundra forums? What evidence was provided to substantiate the claim?
Yep and yep. Great questions to our new friend that just joined the forum last Feb and since then has only posted/discussed this same issue.

My Lexus app has my car on recall (it didn’t for last years). Idk if there is a full document I can get yet. 2023 Lx600. 😔

Whats your build date? On the door jamb.

Yall post those up. This is a tech forum 👌🏽

The V35A is only manufactured at TMMAL for domestic installation and Tahara for Japan installation.

To be fair, you should probably give a some background to the claim that a LX700h with an engine produced in May 2025 blew up due to a main bearing issue similar to the issues in the recall. Not saying you are a liar or anything like that but it's a bold claim. Bold claims need at least a small little piece of context.

It's a Tundra. Never said it was an LX700h.
