Ya, he definately deserves to get bashed, what an idiot for trying to show a project he is building on mud and thinking he would get support or opinions on how to do things or do things better. Maybe there is another forum he can find where people would have productive feedback and less negative critiscism!

If you find it let me know because Im thinking about going there too.

By the way monster, how do you plan to reinforce the front leaf hangers, what axles and rubber are planning on running?

just seems to me there is a better way to achieve the lift he is wanting without making the frame taller. maybe im wrong?

anyhow whatever, he deletes the pictures cool, he keeps em and continues the build cool. i dont think our comments are going to stop him from whatever he already has planned.:meh:

Rockwells, be sure to post some pics! Agricultural tires? There was a dakota built up similarily on a 1 ton ford frame and extended leaf brackets near calgary. You may have more a lot more height than needed once you bolt the rockwells to the springs, you could probally go with bigger rubber but than can be sorted out later.
Do you have some info on another site?

gm axles ?how are you going to deal with the reverse rotation on the front .the transfer case from the automatics does not have low range either.a ww2 t case has low range and reverse rotation .or you can flip the third and shorten the p side axle shaft to fit.good luck

Wow ... I love this site, because all the dudes are positive and full of knowledge, but I guess I'll change my mind about posting my Super Duty build here.

i ran the same set up for years with 54" tractor tires on a fj40. ran a 501 caddy with a turbo 400 and stock toyota t case .it was to me a lot less work to mount the 40 body on a shortened 6x6 chassis.i didnt need 2 tcases probably because of the caddy engine.go to yankee lake .com and there are tons of trucks like that there .some work some dont lets see the final product in action some day .good luck ,ps when i built my truck in 1975 i didnt know about reverse rotation. on the test drive the truck was throwing dirt everywhere but wouldnt move because front tires were going backwards.
