I'll probably miss a step.

  • Get engine nice and hot.
  • Remove rocker arm cover.
  • Set crank pulley at top dead center using a 19mm wrench. This will be a 50/50 crap shoot.
  • Check if the #1 pair of rockers are loose, or if the #4 pair are loose. #1 is closest to the radiator.

If #1 pair are loose and #4 are tight:
  • Adjust #1 intake
  • Adjust #1 exhaust
  • Adjust #2 intake
  • Adjust #3 exhaust

If the #1 rockers are tight and #4 are loose:
  • Adjust #2 exhaust
  • Adjust #3 intake
  • Adjust #4 intake
  • Adjust #4 exhaust

Spin the crank around one rotation and do the second set. Spin again and double check the adjustments.

Exhaust valves are adjusted to: 0.012in
Intake valves are adjust to: 0.008in.

To adjust you will need a 12mm box wrench, a screwdriver, and a set of feeler gauges. Loosen the nut on top of the rocker, stick the feeler gauge between the top of the valve and the rocker tip. Turn the screw until the feeler is just snug (FSM says "very slight drag"). Tighten the nut holding the screw in place, which could knock off the adjustment. Repeat until you get the feeler snug, but not too tight with the nut tightened down. Take your time.

I give this job :banana:. IE, it's just a step above easy.
