Hello all,

Just got done installing my new 22re performance 22re. Love it!!! Runs great and keeps getting stronger. Going to post a full build thread and review soon.

My issue is when the motor is cold - having to at least sit for like 8 or more hours. It will stumble just a second and then idle at around 1300 which is good i think until it warms up. Sometimes it will actually die after I start it.

Any suggestions?

new 22re motor
all new coolant lines
new tps but was adjusted with the old motor
rebuilt fuel injectors and fuel filter

here's a video

Thanks, Christian

Did you pull the tps off or clean the throttle body at all with it on?

I'd check it then.

Cold start injector issue? Is it hooked up? Working?

Cold start time switch? Located at the front of the engine under the thermostat.

I have a 22re performance engine in mine as well. That motor and the fiberglass bed are the two best things I'd ever did for that truck.

Need to:

Base time the engine (Get everything to TDC, rotate crank to 5* and insert the dizzy CORRECTLY!!)
Set engine idle 750 or so
Adjust the TPS. 4crawler has a good write up on his site
Fine tune the timing with and without the jumper in place with a light. The timing should be 5* with the jumper in place and around 12* without the jumper in place. (I run mine at 8*, with jumper, because of the altitude I'm at.)

Do it in that order and you will have a fine running machine.
